A lot of the work our Destination team is involved in, goes on behind the scenes, building relationships with travel agents who book visitors on trips to New Zealand.
Earlier this month, our Trade Marketing Manager, Sarah Archer and Head of Destination Ben Chapman, were in Auckland representing Northland at the Regional Tourism New Zealand Inbound Trade Show 2026.
Over two full days, they met one-on-one with inbound tour operators — the people who package up and sell New Zealand to international visitors.
It’s a pretty full-on format — back-to-back meetings, 12 minutes at a time, talking through what’s new in Northland, what’s coming up, and where we fit into future itineraries.
These are the conversations that help get Northland into international itineraries — and ultimately drive more visitors, and value, into our region.
