I love this story....
“I had planned to see 20 countries in 2020 with Intrepid.
As a teenager I always dreamed of travelling but it was just a dormant dream. Then I went to school, got married, had children. I never really thought it was possible and had some fears about it as a solo traveller.
One day I sat down and planned a trip on my own. I realized the bigger fear I had was actually not doing something then looking back and wishing I had. Right then I promised myself as a solo traveller, that I didn’t want to wait for somebody. I’m going to go! The idea of the unknown will always have a little sense of fear, but it also has a wonderful sense of magic. And by not stepping into that unknown, you miss out on that magic.
Being 65 I can tell you the number doesn’t matter. You can do this at any age.
I never made it to the 20 countries. I only saw 9 before the pandemic hit. But I also realized that number doesn’t really matter either.
What matters is that you go. I have re-booked 4 trips for 2022, 15 countries isn’t so bad… I think 2022 is really my year.”
