Just released today. The FAA has now approved the new Symmetrical Horizontal Stabalizer for the R22. Our R22 fleet will soon have these fitted inline with our R44.

Breaking news: FAA approves new empennage design for the R22! 🚁✅
The certification of the R22 horizontal symmetrical; all of Robinson's helicopters are now FAA-approved with the new empennage design. This configuration is now standard on all newly manufactured Robinson helicopters. The development and testing of the new empennage design spanned several years, resulting in enhanced handling characteristics during high-speed flight.

Our engineers have been busy fitting the upgraded symmetrical horizontal stabiliser to our own R44. The first in NZ fitted to an R44, closely followed by Wanaka Helicopters. Two flying examples already in NZ, with more being shipped shortly.

The upgraded stabiliser was previously approved for the R66, is now avaliable for the R44. RHC expect to have a kit soon approved for the R22.

The Retrofit Kit can be fitted by Service Letter SL-89B available through your current maintenance provider, or Heliflite- NZs authorised Robinson Dealer.
A discounted rate applies to orders placed prior to December 2024.

With Christmas fast approaching, dont get caught out with last-minute panic shopping at the mall. A great gift to give to a friend or loved one is a Trial Flight in a helicopter.

This hands-on experience puts you at the controls of a helicopter!

This “must-do” flight is one that will leave the lucky someone buzzing for weeks. Come out to Ardmore Airport where we will give you a tour of our base. Then one of our experienced instructors will give a brief on how helicopters operate, before setting off on the Trial Flight.

Whilst flying, take in the beautiful scenery of the Hauraki Gulf and Waiheke Island. Enjoy flying through the local forest, and rural landscape. If you are willing, experience a simulated engine failure and glide safely back to the ground.
