Motive Events NZ

Motive Events NZ Launching from the edge of the world. We are producers of emotive experiences, delivering for those who value connections.

We create so much more than just events.

We create Motive moments that people remember…
- The conversations that might not have happened otherwise.
- The shared experiences that turn colleagues into mates.
- The destinations that become part of your brand story.
- And the feeling of bringing a room full of people together and having them leave more connected than when they arrived.

While those moments matter, so does what sits behind them.

Every experience needs a purpose. Maybe it’s recognising great people. Bringing teams closer together. Strengthening relationships. Rewarding performance. Building loyalty. Or simply giving people a reason to feel proud of the work they are part of.

A great event should feel good in the moment whilst achieving something long after it.

That’s the good stuff. The Motive moments. And we’re pretty lucky to get to create them. 💚

Gold Coast by night 🌙

Once the daytime site visits wrapped, Kelly got to see what the Gold Coast can do after dark, from immersive dinners and rooftop venues to evening experiences designed to bring people together.

Safe to say, the Gold Coast has plenty up its sleeve.

The process vs the result. 👀

This was Noel Leeming’s conference last year. And right now, we’re back doing it all over again.

Behind the scenes? Run sheets, radios, cable tape, last-minute tweaks and a team making approximately 38 things happen at once.

This year’s conference is officially underway. Same energy. Fresh event. Plenty going on behind the scenes.

The lights are up. The room is empty. Someone’s found a lonely name badge under a table.

Technically, the event is over. But, in our opinion, the good stuff is yet to happen…

- The conversations people are talking about on the way home.
- The product or idea they bring up in Monday’s meeting.
- The introduction that turns into something bigger.

That’s where the real ROI lives.

Three days, approximately 150 guests, and a programme that showcased a lot of Adelaide. 🇦🇺

Envoyage The Summit 2026 kicked off with welcome drinks at Lady Burra, followed by a full day filled with speakers, panels, breakout sessions, and engaging conversations at The Playford.

After a quick turnaround, the conference space transformed into a gala venue for an evening of awards, celebration, and well-deserved dancing. Sunday featured a Supplier Showcase with over 40 travel partners, culminating in a long lunch at Longview and The Great Travel Quiz.

It was a complex event with many moving parts and exactly the kind of program our team loves to dive into.

A huge thank you to the Envoyage team for trusting Brooke, Nicky, and Duane to help bring The Summit 2026 to life. Adelaide, you were a fantastic host 🥂

Earlier this month, Kelly headed across the Tasman for the This is Gold Coast famil, spending four packed days getting a proper look at what the destination can offer corporate groups. ☀️

From conference spaces at GCCEC and hotel inspections across QT, Sheraton Grand Mirage, JW Marriott and the new Mondrian, to immersive dinners, rooftop venues, wildlife experiences and plenty of creative group activities, there was a lot to take in.

The biggest takeaway? The Gold Coast continues to evolve well beyond its traditional leisure reputation. For conferences, incentives and Concentives, there's a strong mix of infrastructure, accessibility, hospitality and experiences that can be shaped around very different programme objectives.

Kelly came home with a very full notebook, a few new favourites and plenty of ideas for future programmes.

We'll be revealing all in our upcoming blog post. Stay tuned 👀

Meet our Motive mascots. 🐾

Best at being full-time morale officers and occasional Zoom guests. Not so good at actual event delivery. Let's just say their ability to not get distracted is, well, limited...

Some supervise from home. Others make regular office appearances.

What do they all have in common? They're convinced Motive exists primarily to fund their lifestyles.

Would you agree? 👀

Jenny recently spent a month making her way around Europe. Technically a holiday. In practice, a month of unofficial destination research. Event people never really switch it off (iykyk).

Germany, Albania, Sicily, Turin and Paris all made the itinerary.

But there was one very clear winner… Sicily!

The architecture. The food. The slower southern Italian pace. The feeling that people still live there, rather than the entire place existing for visitors.

Then there were the €4 glasses of wine, which may have had absolutely nothing to do with Jenny announcing that she plans to retire there.

For incentives, Sicily offers something quite different.

It has all the beauty and drama you want from Italy, but feels slower, more grounded and a little less flashy than Amalfi, Rome or Cinque Terre.

Think long lunches, local markets, vineyard visits, private palazzos, coastal towns and evenings that are allowed to take their time.

Less racing between photo stops. More time actually experiencing the place.

For the right group, that can be exactly what makes a programme land.

If you’d like to know more about building a programme in this beautiful part of the world, get in touch. Jenny can talk you through the good bits, the practical bits and, apparently, the best local wine bars 👀

We’re in the thick of back to back event season and, somehow, already talking about 2027.

Where has the year gone?

It feels like a good time to look back at a few standout destinations and share where we think they could add real value to future programmes.

First up, Duane in Marrakech.

The colour. The food. The desert. The opulence.
Not a bad place to be doing your homework.

Marrakech feels like a proper reward from the moment you arrive. Meetings in a private riad, time exploring the souks, dinner in a Medina palace, then an evening under the stars in the desert.

Followed by a sunrise hot air balloon flight, just because you can.

There is plenty of wow, but there is also plenty to work with when you are building a programme around culture, connection and a bit of adventure.

For the right group, Marrakech is a brilliant option.
