Come and see Ross and the team at the Auckland Boat Show, on SCANIA NZ's stand number 137. This year we are fortunate to feature the SCANIA E-Machine which can be used in hybrid diesel / electric applications, or as 100% electric propulsion. This is the first time the E-Machine has been put on display in the southern hemisphere !!!
Ken, Mark and Chris will also be available to answer any questions.

Dear Valued Customer, Colleague, or just fellow SCANIA Power Solutions fan.

On behalf of Ross, Mark, Ken, Dion, Greg, Michelle, Errol, and Chris, we would like to thank you all for contributing to another successful year at South Pacific Diesel Systems Limited.

Despite ongoing international political and financial market instability, our little team have continued to provide ongoing support to our many existing customers and delivered lots of new engines into our growing SCANIA engine family. As of today’s date, we have 1376 engines on our New Zealand database, and we still expect to sell a couple more before Christmas!

In case you need us, we will be open for business every day over the festive season except the statutory holidays, but our phones are always close at hand for emergencies.

We wish you and your family and staff peace and good fortune throughout 2026, with smiles and laughter in abundance. Once again, thank you for your support, and Merry Christmas.

Keeping SCANIA engines running sweetly and economically is a big part of our business.
Being able to offer genuine factory “service exchange” components, provides a great financial saving to our customers and it’s a fabulous “green” alternative to brand-new parts.
Cylinder heads, water pumps, injectors, turbochargers, starter motors and alternators, are all offered via the SCANIA service exchange program, with the parts providing up to a 50% saving, whilst still carrying the same new-part warranty.
The photos below are some of the returned used parts (or “cores”), which Gary is labelling, and boxing up to return to the factory for recycling. Customers then receive their core credit, which of course is essential to keep the cycle repeating.

Still plenty going on at the Auckland Boat Show. Come and see us on stand number 132.

Well, it's already that time of year again, with the Auckland Boat Show opening the doors next Thursday - 6th March.
Gary and Dion have once again done a fabulous job of preparing two stock engines for our display; this time a DI16 076M and a DI13 076M - both with XPI fuel injection equipment.
We will have a full team at the show for at least Thursday and Friday and we would love to see you at stand number 132

Big orange engines everywhere!!
Ten new SCANIA engines have arrived into our store this week; but only one is for our own stock, with the other nine already sold.
Three passenger ferries and a fishing boat will be the grateful recipients; and the engines will be heading as far a field as Opua in the far north of the North Island and Riverton in the far south of New Zealand’s South Island.

Dear Valued Customer, Colleague, or just fellow SCANIA Power Solutions fan.

On behalf of Ross, Mark, Ken, Dion, Gary, Jack, Errol, and Chris, we would like to thank you all for contributing to another successful year at South Pacific Diesel Systems Limited.

Despite wars in foreign lands, a change of government in New Zealand plus local and international financial market instability; our little team have had a record year for new engine installation inspections and “first starts”. Whilst delivering new engines is fantastic, it is only part of our business, with spare parts and workshop services being the most important thing to our ever-growing SCANIA engine family.

In case you need us, we will be open for business every day over the festive season except the statutory holidays and Friday 27 December and Friday 3rd January, but our phones are always close at hand for emergencies.

We wish you and your family and staff peace and good fortune throughout 2025, with smiles and laughter in abundance. Once again, thank you for your support, and Merry Christmas.

Congratulations Port Nelson, we look forward to being "at your service" throughout Manuka's long life ahead. Cheers from the team at South Pacific Diesel Systems Limited.

This morning, Port Nelson launched and blessed its new $3.6 million pilot vessel Mānuka.

She is a new 17m, Heart Marine fibreglass vessel powered by twin Scania 552 kW diesel engines, giving her a 30 knot speed capability. She is a big step up from the 20-year-old Waimea II in capability and crew safety.

Nelson is a challenging port technically for bringing in large vessels due to the geography of the cut and large tides. The port is critical to our city in enabling efficient export of our horticultural, forestry and fishing products and Council has a big interest in its commercial success as a 50% shareholder.

Another tidy repower - carried out by Team Circa. This time its's a pair of SCANIA DI13 087M engines producing 750hp @ 2,300rpm, that will take the Port of Tauranga pilot vessel Arataki well into the next decade. Thanks for the memorable footage.
