New Brisbane Services ✈️
We are pleased to welcome new direct services between Queenstown and Brisbane with Air New Zealand and Jetstar NZ, strengthening our trans-Tasman connections and offering more choice for travellers.

This exciting addition, on top of the year-round direct services already operated by Qantas and Virgin Australia between ZQN & BNE, comes as we mark a significant milestone of more than one million international passenger movements in a financial year for the first time.

Whether you are heading to Queensland for some winter warmth or visiting Queenstown for the snow, these new services make it even easier to travel.

Queenstown Airport is proud to share that more than $50,000 has been distributed through the ZQN Community Fund to 15 organisations across Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago.

From supporting young people and families to strengthening community connections and protecting our environment, these grants help enable some very important work.

It was wonderful to celebrate this year’s recipients last night and hear first-hand the difference this support will make.

The ZQN Suitcase Race made its much-anticipated return to Coronet Peak on Saturday as part of Snow Fest, delivering spectacular spills, plenty of laughs, and some fierce competition.🛄✨

It was a fantastic day on the mountain, and Queenstown Airport was proud to support this much-loved event.

A timely reminder to be prepared and take extra care on our roads this winter.❄️

New snow chain rules are coming into effect this winter ❄️⛓️

From this winter, drivers who don’t fit chains on Council‑managed roads when required may face a $750 fine. This is enforceable under the Traffic and Parking Bylaw 2025, with Police responsible for issuing infringements.

Winter conditions can change quickly, so please make sure you’re carrying chains, confident fitting them, and following any signs or directions from Police, ski field teams or QLDC.

These changes will help keep our alpine routes moving and ensure grit trucks and emergency services can access roads when needed.

A great few days at Electrify Queenstown⚡️
