As medical professionals bring expertise to healthcare, medical tourism requires 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆.

With a degree in Tourism Management and 20+ years across 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 throughout New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East, the UK, and Europe, Moana McRae developed a strong understanding of travel ecosystems, logistics, and human connection.

Driven by a passion for travel and meaningful experiences, this girl from Rotorua, 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗺, 𝗧ü𝗿𝗸𝗶𝘆𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 created Oceanscape Group.

So… who is 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼?

Oceanscape Group is made up of 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 and 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗦𝗮ğ𝗹ı𝗸 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗺, a Turkish company, 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱

Oceanscape was created in 2024 after founder Moana McRae saw a growing number of New Zealanders and Australians travelling to Türkiye for treatment and thought:
“𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.”

Today, Oceanscape acts as the 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, connecting people with carefully selected hospitals, medical professionals, travel partners, and support services.

We support our clients from the initial enquiry right through to post-care, 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 them with the medical professionals best suited to their individual needs and case.

After sharing Adrian’s story, one of the biggest questions we get asked is…

Because when you begin looking into treatment overseas, it can feel incredibly overwhelming.

There are some stories that are far bigger than travel, surgery, or logistics.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸.

It’s an absolute privilege to walk alongside our clients... (literally up mountains) through these journeys and to be trusted with something so personal.

Seeing someone who has spent years living with pain, limitation, discomfort, or putting themselves last finally take a step toward reclaiming their quality of life is something I never take for granted.

Adrian’s journey is one of resilience, courage, and hope. After 26 years of injury and challenges, watching him now move forward into this next chapter is incredibly special.

People see the surgery.
They don’t see the planning behind it.

Once we realised this journey could actually happen, the real work started behind the scenes.

Flights.
Mobility.
Transfers.
Surgeon appointments.
Pain management.
Accommodation.
Timing.

Getting someone safely across the world with spinal issues is not as simple as booking a ticket.

Every part of the journey had to be carefully planned to make sure our guys could physically manage the trip.
