One of the many perks of the work we do is getting to travel to some incredible places — and this job was no exception.

This trip saw us carting culvert pipes and a lunchroom container into Fighting Bay, where contractors are carrying out important access works around both the station and the structures where the main Benmore DC line enters the Cook Strait on its journey to the North Island. It’s always rewarding being involved in projects that play a part in keeping key infrastructure moving.

We kicked the morning off under grey, miserable skies, but by the end of the trip we were greeted with views like this — making every kilometre on the road well worth it. It’s hard to complain about the drive when the office for the day looks like the Marlborough Sounds.

Truck 12 — our 2021 Hino 700 fitted with a rear-mounted PK53002 — handled the job with ease, taking on the long haul, winding roads, and changing conditions along the way.

Big days, challenging access, and incredible scenery — just another day doing what we do best.

Recently, our team completed a pool lift in Richmond that required lifting directly over the client’s house. Although the finished result looked simple, a lot of planning went into making sure the job ran smoothly from start to finish.

Before the lift took place, a detailed Lift Plan was completed and the crew were fully briefed so everyone understood their role in the operation. With high-risk lifts like this, preparation and communication are critical.

The pool was transported from a Hope Storage site to the client’s property, where Truck 15 — our 2024 Scania P500 fitted with a cab-mounted PK92002 crane — was onsite and ready for the lift. Once the transporter was carefully positioned, the team safely lifted the pool into place without issue.

A great effort from everyone involved and another successful job completed safely and efficiently.

A smooth and straightforward job moving a farmer’s livelihood from one region to the next. 🚛

Our 8x4 Hino 700, fitted with a rear-mounted PK53002, was the perfect setup for the job—collecting two 20ft containers from Redwood Valley. Each container weighed approximately 6 tonnes and was packed with a mix of household belongings and essential farming gear, ready for their next chapter down south. Everything was carefully handled and delivered to Sollys Freight for the next leg of the journey to Canterbury.

This image captures the kind of complex work and unique situations we tackle every day. Steep sites like this mean safety is front of mind in every move, just as it is on all our jobs. We laid timber along the driveway to protect the surface from damage — and to keep our shiny chrome bumper looking its best 😉 — while additional spotters were on hand to guide the lift.

Our trusty Hino 700 fitted with a cab-mounted Palfinger PK 53002 was the perfect setup for shifting this portable cabin. These tricky spots are no challenge for our experienced, well-trained team. With the right team and the right equipment behind the job, you get the right result — every time.

Weighing in at approximately 60 tonne, this was no small task—but with the power and precision of our Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1, it was handled safely and efficiently from start to finish.

Great job completed by the team recently, picking up two precast wing walls from Thelin Construction Ltd and transporting them up the Northbank in Blenheim to Cat Creek for Egypt Ltd. Each wing wall weighed in at 6.1 tonne and were delivered and placed onsite where a new bridge is being installed to improve access for a local vineyard.

This job was a great example of the variety of work we handle — heavy lifting, tight rural access, and precise placement onsite, all completed safely and efficiently thanks to good planning and teamwork.
