Another good reason for Māori to VOTE in 2026

ACT seems obsessed with race.

Race this. Race that.
“Māori privilege.” “Race-based policy.” “Equal rights.”

Meanwhile, most Māori are asking for something much simpler:

We just want to be Māori.

To speak te reo.
To practise tikanga.
To protect whenua and wai.
To exercise our to our whānau, hapū and iwi.
To honour Te Tiriti.
To raise our tamariki and mokopuna knowing who they are and where they belong.

That shouldn’t be divisive.

What is divisive is constantly portraying Māori identity, Māori rights and Māori institutions as some kind of threat to everybody else.

Being Māori does not take anything away from anyone else.

We are not asking permission to be Māori.

We already are.

Simple.
