Daffodil Day 28th of August 2026 💛 1 in 3 Kiwis will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetimes.

Each day 81 Kiwis hear the words, “You have cancer.” Daffodil Day is a chance to show your friends and family affected by cancer they’re not alone. Daffodil Day is about donating in order to protect future generations of New Zealanders by helping to fund world-leading cancer research and vital prevention programmes.

Meet our new wheelchair-accessible vehicle! 🚐💛
We’re so excited to have another vehicle joining the Driving Miss Daisy Taupo Team.
It means more opportunities to help our wheelchair clients get out and about, whether that’s heading to an appointment, meeting friends for coffee, doing the shopping or enjoying a day out.
Because getting out and about should be something everyone can enjoy. 🌼

💛 We’re proud to have recently been involved with the Taupō Disability Focus Group.

The group brings together people with lived experience, community organisations, businesses and local services to help create a more inclusive, accessible and connected community for people living with disabilities, health conditions, neurodiversity and their whānau.

We love being part of conversations that help make it easier for everyone to get out, get involved and feel connected in their community. 🌼

A big part of what we do at Driving Miss Daisy is helping people stay independent and connected through safe, accessible transport so being involved in initiatives like this is something we really value.

Thank you to the Taupō Disability Focus Group for the work you’re doing in our community and thank you to everyone that we spoke to at the recent event. 💛

Today is World Senior Citizens Day, a day that recognises and appreciates senior citizens for all their accomplishments and contributions to the community we live in today. Senior citizens are valued members of society, who have plenty of kind wisdom and experience to share with the younger generation.

They are often overlooked and undermined because of their fragile state, but they have played a huge role in history, either in our communities, the workforce, or in our daily households. World Senior Citizens Day is a great opportunity to show them love and plenty of kindness in celebrating their golden age and their presence in our lives.
