The cruise was historically amazing, educational, interesting and fun. We had the run of the yacht, nowhere was off limits. We even ventured into the engine room.
From the moment we stepped into the jetty until the very end, the entire experience was truly exceptional!
Captain Adam and his trusty crew Meghan made us feel at ease, welcome, informed and safe, but most of all fun!

We had an incredible experience travelling on Faith with Adam and Megan, along with our family, including our 4-year-old daughter, who chose this trip for her birthday.
From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food and drinks were fantastic, and the commentary added so much to the experience. Highlights included getting a look at the engine room, seeing Faith under full sail, exploring the hidden lakes, and even enjoying a bagpipe performance from Adam.
It was such a fun and unique adventure, we wouldn’t hesitate to do it again in a heartbeat.

Well after a bit of a shake, rattle and roll, here we are at episode 21.

Last night our region was shaken by a magnitude 6.3 earthquake and following aftershocks. Just reminding us all of how our majestic landscape was created. Earthquakes are something we’ve grown up with here in New Zealand, however this one did raise the heart rate and had us ducking for cover for its over one minute long duration.

Our restoration period is progressing well, and while we do have a charter trip tomorrow morning, we are ticking off some of our many tasks on our list. The lake is currently high, so while our precious wharf is on our list, the water levels have moved us into the wheelhouse restoration.

This hopefully shows just how much care and pride Adam takes as he brings Faith back to life, over the 3 months of shutdown, and she is looking so good!

Week in review - Episode 20

Here we are in July already, and we’ve been able to tick off just one of those projects on our list, the forward bow locker restoration. This locker has been a hot topic this past season, as it got to a point where it was rapidly declining and because we had already achieved so much on the bow, it was very noticeable.
The forward locker is an addition to Faith, built during her 1980’s restoration when she arrived in New Zealand. It is home to the internal gas system for the galley, providing hot water and gas for the cooker.
Made from the same teak as Faith’s original build we knew that, with a little bit of time and energy we could restore this locker to it’s former glory. The process was to remove it from Faith, which just so happened to be on the mooring at the time, label and dismantle the box, remove the previous layers of varnish and sand it back. By lowering the centre of the structure Adam was able to ensure either side of the lid of the locker were more flush, ensuring that the hinges had a solid platform. This reduced the movement in the hinges for a more solid construction.
Now you’ve all noticed that this “week in review” is just slightly delayed, it’s been over a month since the end of season. While we have done a couple of charters in between, this has been our focus, outlining just how long the restoration process takes.
