NZTN Landing Fee Update

Kia ora pilots!

A quick heads-up that landing fees at Tūrangi Aerodrome (NZTN) have now been officially updated, as published in NOTAM A7164/25. The key changes are:

Private pilots: $10

Commercial operators: $25

Admin fee: A $20 admin fee now applies to any landing fee invoiced after 7 days

Operator phone contact has also been updated

Aircraft movements are now electronically monitored

We’ve had a few “blink-and-you-miss-it” landings where payments didn’t come through 😉 we’re following these up. With the aeroclub now managing the airfield, we’re carrying more of the running costs than before. The updated fees help us keep NZTN safe, open, and looked after for all who use it.

We’re excited to share that Turangi Aerodrome now has live weather cameras online! Perfect for checking conditions before you fly in, plan training, or just see what the Central Plateau is up to.
They’re on our temporary webpage for now, and should be appearing in your favourite EFB soon!

If you are flying in to Turangi Airfield on a Sunday and want a nice hot lunch the Tokaanu-Turangi RSA does a Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. They will send a courtesy van to pick you up and deliver you back. They ask that you notify them that you want this service before you arrive.

Thank you all for flying in to Turangi for the Bush Pilots BBQ in February. It really showed us all how much we wanted to see Turangi Aerodrome continue in operation. Your support is much appreciated and negotiations are continuing. We will keep you posted with developments.

A great day out for a Bush Flyers BBQ lunch at Turangi today. Around 40 + aircraft from Dannevirke, Masterton, Feilding, Omaka, Wanganui, Tauranga, Waihi Beach, Whitianga, Mercer, Ardmore, Te Kuiti, Taupo and Napier flew in to Turangi. Who did we miss out🤔
