A few weeks ago we got asked by our friends at Waimak Classic Cars to pick up an Alfa Romeo for them. Being the boss, David pulled rank and nabbed that job, and to his delight, it was a stunning 2000 GTV.

A bit of context, when I was a kid, that was one of my dream cars and this one is amazing. Unfortunately our accountant Troy won't let me buy it because it's not a tow truck (and Nic agrees...), so it's for sale.

What should you do after an accident?

Accidents are Always stressful, and it's hard to think sensibly when you're running on adrenaline and dealing with something you've probably never been through before.

We've helped people through thousands of accidents over the years, and our advice is:

✅ Take photos
✅ Remove valuables
✅ Swap details
✅ Contact insurance
✅ And remember — you can choose your own tow company. Good towing should reduce stress, not add to it.

We put together a simple checklist you can save on your phone or keep handy in the car. Hopefully you never need it — but if you do, you’ll be glad you saved it.

And yes… definitely grab your garage remote before the vehicle disappears on the tow truck. Trust us on that one.

Opportunity for our young drivers 🚗

We're sponsoring 10 young drivers and their parents/guardians to attend Street Smart young driver training this July!

🛣️ Street Smart, driven by Tony Quinn Foundation Road Safety, is a hands‑on driver education programme designed to help young Kiwis build awareness and develop safer driving habits.

📅 Monday 13 July or Tuesday 14 July 2026
📍Euromarque Motorsport Park, Ruapuna, Christchurch

To be eligible to take part in this course, you must:
✅ Be aged 16 - 24 years.
✅ Have a valid learners, restricted or full licence.
✅ Have a parent or guardian attend - the goal is to ensure that the learning continues into everyday driving.
✅ Bring a vehicle with current registration, warrant of fitness, and insurance - better understand how their vehicle behaves and responds in different situations.

Accidents happen when nobody expects them.

One minute you're heading home or going about your day… and the next you’re standing on the side of the road trying to work out what to do next.

And that's the hard part. At the time you need a calm head and the ability to manage the situation, you're dealing with something you've probably never experienced before. What the hell should you do?

We’ve attended thousands of accidents over the years, and a few simple things really help:

✅ Take photos
✅ Swap details calmly
✅ Remove valuables from the vehicle
✅ Contact your insurance company
✅ And remember — you can choose your own tow company

A good towing company should reduce stress, not add to it.
