The full custom superyacht tender for S/Y Sea Eagle slipped carefully off her mould recently, marking an important benchmark in her construction. The Bakewell-White Yacht design 8.5m limousine tender is LSB’s 76th project. Utilising carbon fibre construction and finished to the highest level, she will be a very special tender when complete.

A great weekend for Lloyd Stevenson–built yachts at Bay of Islands Sailing Week. Despite the poor weather early on, congratulations go to the crews of Equilibrium and Wired.

Equilibrium took out the overall win in both the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) and Executive Handicap Committee (EHC) divisions. Well done to Graham and crew.

Meanwhile, Wired claimed overall line honours. Congratulations to Rob, Brett, and the hardworking crew.

A few well earned rums were enjoyed.

Last month, our latest Catalyst build made the impressive journey to Fiji under her own power. Departing from Auckland, she completed the 1,290-nautical-mile voyage to Denarau via Minerva Reef. Despite some testing conditions, she performed flawlessly — cruising at 32 knots and never dipping below 25 knots, even arriving in Fiji with fuel in reserve. Congratulations to the Render Fiji team for making the crossing look easy.

Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders is proud to announce that construction will begin on a new Catalyst in June 2025. The ten-month build will be Lloyd's 75th custom build to date. Boat 75, (B75) will serve as a high-speed superyacht tender and chase boat.

Notable features of B75 include

An extended 15m hull. Taking her to 50'
A large open cockpit space for sail storage and crew transfers.
Lowered, streamlined cabin with extended overhang above the cockpit
Twin 600 HP V12 Verado Mercury outboards, capable of 50+ knots
Foil assisted

Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern at the media reports of a fire at our factory over night. I can assure you all that our boat factory and offices are not affected by the fire, it was contained to an office in the tenants behind our building. Our thoughts are with the occupants of 10b Ra Ora.

We are all very proud of our recent apprentice graduates who received their certificates at the MAST Academy graduation last week, Jaden with his Certificate in Boatbuilding Composite and Reid with his certificate in Marine Interiors. To cap off the evening, Reid was awarded the overall prize as Marine graduate of the year, and delivered an exceptional speech of acknowledgement on behalf of all the graduates.
