Generally between 30 to 40 hours a week.
Start times varies between 5am and 6am.

Hi there!

The team here at Southern Packers Limited have been working on a few exciting ideas regarding onions and onion-based products, as well as some exciting opportunities for vegetable processing services. To help these ideas develop and flow, we are conducting a market research project centered around a quick and easy survey available online here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SPLmarketresearch.
We are asking for anyone involved in the NZ food industry, from manufacturers to exporters, small scale and large, retail and wholesale, and everything in between to participate.

Southern Packers runs a computer operated onion bagging machine and we require a person to ensure the smooth running of this machine on Night Shift (hours yet to be confirmed).

The person we are looking for will need to have good computer skills, have the right attitude and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Other attributes required:

• Mechanical knowledge and/or skilled with technology,
• Able to work as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and a safety first & quality always attitude,
• Great attention to detail and written communication skills,
• Have a good understanding of Health and Safety.
• NZ citizen or permanent resident, and
• Physically fit & able to complete manual tasks including lifting up to 20kgs.

Southern Packers Ltd requires someone to help with the Pastoral Care of our 30 NiVans who come to work for us from Vanuatu.

Pastoral Care includes taking these staff members to do their grocery shopping once a week and is dependent on the shifts that they are rostered on. Also liaising with the NiVan Team Leader and Office Administrator with regards to taking staff to and from Doctor and Dental appointments.

The first group arrive later this month with the rest arriving in February and the full group will be leaving at the end of June approximately.

This position may suit a retired person who likes to get out and about and has their own vehicle.

We are looking for someone to join our team in our Peeling Plant for approx 2 months. The position would involve working on the further processing of onions which includes physical work. - Must be reliable.
- Hours generally 6am to mid-afternoon (when orders are completed).
- Must be a strong team player and have an excellent work ethic.
