😎When did you start following our journey?
🧐Have you wondered the story behind how we landed where we did?
🤩Do you think you’d say yes to this kind of adventure?

Read a little bit of my back story to get an insight into the power of saying yes to the small things in life and how they can lead to mind blowing experiences.

Great to be working with Tanya Gordon on this blog series. Sharing really is caring.

How I completed 50 new experiences in my 50th year — not from a pre-written list, but by saying yes as life unfolded. Here's what happened

1 year anniversary of being brave and terrified as I headed face down across the sand at break neck speeds.

When travelling Slow Across South America we had some amazing experiences - this one made me scream the loudest.

Can’t believe it’s been a whole year since. Feels strange to be back home.

Thanks to for sharing the experience

Two years ago today I took to the stage.
It was a major turning point in my life. La Voix was an amazing host and really put me at ease.

I realised I could do anything I put my mind to.

Saying yes to this incredibly scary opportunity made it possible for my body to not resist everything that scared me.

Which lead to our South America trip.

It’s about learning to Love Life More.

If you’d like to know more about my adventures check out my guest blog at https://lovelifemore.uk/slow-across-the-world/

I’ve just read that Jo, winner from this season of Race Across the World is planning 3 months in South America. I wonder if he’ll find our page and take some inspiration from our journey.
Jo - if you see this, drop me a message and I’ll let you know some epic hikes and incredible volunteering opportunities.
And congratulations for you brilliant win. You guys made me cry many times.

It’s been 2 months since we returned from our crazy epic adventure. I’d like to apologies for literally dropping off the radar; life, loving and reconnecting was my priority, focus and desire.

So here is my wrap up post. I quite literally don’t know where to start with this. It’s not a list of the epic places we’ve been or the incredible sites we’ve seen, instead I’d like to highlight and remember the feelings, thoughts and emotions that have flooded and filled my head, heart and soul, as I get back to "normal".

Connections to people and myself are the biggest and most impactful reflection. Significant connections have suffered and are now being healthily repaired, through vulnerable, open and honest conversations. I’ve come to the realisation that my perceived “strong” character traits of determination, focus and pride don’t always have the outer ripples that I imagined. I have a tendency to concentrate on the centre of the circle rather than the ripples that radiate, this is something that I am working on.

Every experience, good and bad, gives an opportunity to learn. That can feel in total contrast to the emotions of the experience at the time.

Comfort is both my biggest desire and my worst enemy.

Discomfort brings growth, new knowledge, conquering fears, over coming limiting beliefs and experiences beyond my dreams. It also brings fragility, exhaustion, uncertainty, confusion and aches in my body.

Getting back into my new normal has been harder than it was to go away. I've changed in ways that aren't visible, and that I haven't acknowledged or learned to accept.

I'd fallen back into all habits - namely doing too much for people who aren't my priority (to earn money) - but I am proud to say that I caught myself before I was in too deep.

Enough really is enough and I must remember this.

I am now taking and making the time to do things that I deeply enjoy - helping Mum, connecting with my girls, seeing old friends and making new ones. I have the time, space, energy and desire to discover my soul in a place that is my home. This is something that I never thought would be possible.

I am learning to create and embrace the adventure at home.

It's only been in the last week, that I have been able to look back at all our pictures. Prior to this week looking at them made me feel sad that I'd left that version of me behind. But now I know that it's all a version of me, and just because I felt unstable and unsure of my place in this world. There is space for all of me.

You will see the occasional post on here, probably with other "travel" content; updates of projects that we actually start (rather than all the random and crazy ideas that flood my brain on a regular basis); some thought provoking deep and meaningful learnings and maybe even some throw back stuff, as a reminder of how we grow, evolve and keep living our best lives.

Cheers to
Being slow
Loving more
Embracing life in all it's glory
Saying yes and
Saying no
Being brave
Comfort and
Discomfort

And thank you for being on the journey with us, I miss talking with you all every day

Our South American adventure is coming to its end.
These past 14months have been filled with epic highs and serious lows.
Each and every moment has formed an experience of a life time.
Before this trip I hadn’t been out of the UK for more than 2 weeks.
I knew it would either make me or break me.
There were some occasions I felt close to breaking BUT I’ve always found the inner strength to push through the uncomfortable.

Living proof that we can do ANYTHING we put our mind to.

With love, thanks and gratitude to everyone we met along the way

Day 411
True to our word, today was all about eating and drinking, with the surprise added bonus of having a fun evening with new friends!!

Lunch was a bloody brilliant explosion on all scenes!! We were in the Japanese quarter of the city, where at the weekends stalls line a tiny street with fantastic freshly cooked Japanese street food. I was in utter heaven, not knowing where to look first. My favourite spots were finding sneaky places to watch the back stage prep. The queues for the popular stalls were long, and well worth the 20 minutes waiting. Each of them had mega limited choices, basically protein or vegetable option - they did something great and that’s what you got. Tasty, fast, fresh and cheap - what’s not to love.

The festival from yesterday was also running tonight, it’s literally on our doorstep, so we simply had to go back.

But tonight was even better as we spent the evening chatting and drinking with a motley crew from Canada, USA, Colombia and Brazil - all so fun, welcoming and great company. We’ve not had many social evenings, and this was just perfect!!

Day 410
We are BACK!!!
Our 10 days on Ilhabela were just what we needed to really breathe into all of the past 400 days experiences.
After 2 days exploring in glorious sunshine it turned grey, overcast, with a mixture of drizzle and heavy rain, all day every day for the rest of our time, until we left this morning when the sun was shining again. I believe that was natures way of saying “Stay still. Be still and let feelings flood through you”.

We’ve both had some “break through” moments and will be heading home with ideas, thoughts and aspirations to pursue.

We are back in São Paulo, and have saved a few pennies over the past week, and are planning to spend all our remaining budget on eating and drinking. It’s not a huge amount, so still being cautious- beers and meat at a festival 3mins from our apartment, hanging with the locals.

Can’t believe we’ve just 2 nights to go 🎉 and 😔
