PHILIPPINE AIRLINES UPDATE ON MIDDLE EAST FLIGHTS
Manila, Philippines — February 28, 2026 7PM

Philippine Airlines (PAL) continues to closely monitor the evolving security situation in the Middle East following recent developments in the region.

The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority. In light of operational restrictions in certain Middle East stations, PAL has implemented the following adjustments:

Flight Diversions (Return to Origin):

PR654 (Manila – Riyadh), which departed Manila on Saturday, February 28, 2026, will return to Manila and arrive 1040pm local time.

PR658 (Manila – Dubai), which also departed Manila on Saturday, February 28, 2026, will return to Manila and arrive 952pm local time.

Cancelled Flights:

The following flights are cancelled due to restrictions in flight operations in the concerned Middle East stations

February 28, 2026
PR684 (Manila – Doha)
PR655 (Riyadh – Manila)
PR659 (Dubai – Manila)

March 1, 2026
PR685 (Doha -Manila)

Philippine Airlines is actively coordinating with aviation authorities, airport operators, and relevant government agencies regarding airspace and operational advisories.

We are assisting affected passengers with rebooking, rerouting, or refunds in accordance with PAL policies. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights through the PAL website, mobile app, or official social media channels before proceeding to the airport.

Philippine Airlines emphasizes that we will not compromise on safety. All operational decisions are guided by authoritative risk assessments and civil aviation safety protocols.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Eric Ines ordered all personnel from the Airport Police Department to vacate thier offices inside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals for New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC) use.

In a memorandum order address to APD dated February 23, 2026 said, in the interest of ensuring proper supervision, accountability, and operational readiness, all APD personnel currently deployed at the Office of the Terminal Police Sections in the NAIA Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are hereby directed to return to APD Headquarters effective April 1, 2026.

All offices presently occupied by the Terminal Police Sections at the NAIA Terminals shall be vacated and will be utilized by the New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC). A makeshift office/satellite shall be constructed within the NAIA Terminals strictly for the purpose of receiving complaints and lodging reports.

In line with this, all office lockers, furniture, records, and other office equipment currently located at the NAIA Terminals shall be pulled out and relocated to the offices that will be assigned to each Terminal Police Section at the APD Headquarters.

All concerned personnel shall undergo mandatory briefing formation at the APD Headquarters prior to their subsequent deployment to their respective assigned NAIA Terminals. After completion of the briefing formation, personnel shall be deployed to the NAIA Terminals in accordance with their respective assignments.

As part of ongoing efforts to optimize terminal capacity and improve passenger movement at NAIA, the following airline terminal changes will be implemented:

Effective March 29, 2026

- Royal Brunei (BI)
- Shenzhen Airlines (ZH)

From Terminal 3 to Terminal 1
- Philippines AirAsia (Z2) – International flights only
- AirAsia Berhad (AK)

Effective April 1, 2026
From Terminal 1 to Terminal 3
- Japan Airlines (JL)

Passengers are advised to verify their terminal assignment with their airline prior to travel.
