The Longest 45 Seconds (1990 Earthquake)

Today, we remember the lives lost and the lasting impact of the earthquake that struck Baguio City on July 16, 1990. In just 45 seconds, everything changed. Buildings fell, lives were uprooted, and the entire city faced challenges that seemed impossible to overcome.

This disaster is remembered as one of the most powerful earthquakes in Philippine history. It was a turning point that shaped Baguio’s story. Through all the hardship, the city found new strength and resilience. The scars are still here, but so is the spirit that helped Baguio rise again.
