TINGNAN | CPA-CDC nakiisa sa taunang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa

Nakiisa sa taunang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa ang Cebu Port Authority-Child Development Center (CPA-CDC) na may temang “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon” na ginanap ngayon ika-24 ng Agosto sa CPA Social Hall A.

Dinaluhan ang naturang pagdiriwang nina GM Kit Comendador, Bb. Leah Seno ng CPA Admin Division, mga g**o, mag-aaral at kanilang mga magulang.

Sa pagsimula ng selebrasyon, nagbigay ng pambungad na pananalita si Bb. Leah Seno, GAD Focal Point System Chairperson na kung saan binigyang-diin niya ang kahalagahan ng pagdiriwang, na isa itong pagkakataon para ipaalala sa lahat na mahalin, magkaisa at tangkilikin ang sariling atin.

Nagsuot ng mga tradisyonal na kasuotang Pilipino ang bawat mag-aaral at nagpakita sa kanilang talento sa pamamagitan ng pagsayaw ng Itik-Itik. Naglaro din sila sa ginanap na Larong Pinoy na nagdagdag ng saya at sigla sa selebrasyon.

Nagtapos ang programa sa pagbibigay ng pangwakas na pananalita ni Bb. Laarni Flores, Child Care and Health Committee Chairperson. Binigyang-diin niya na ang pagmamahal at pagtataguyod sa sariling wika ay isang panghabambuhay na pananagutan. Nagpaabot din siya ng taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng sumuporta at nakilahok upang maging matagumpay ang Buwan ng Wika ngayong taon.

LOOK | Our Lady of the Star of the Sea visits CPA

The Our Lady of the Star of the Sea is currently visiting the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) today, 17 August 2026, with a Holy Mass being held as part of the meaningful visit.

The pilgrim will stay overnight today and will be transferred tomorrow, 18 August 2026 at 9:30AM to 2GO Pier 4, Cebu City.

May Our Lady of the Star of the Sea, continue to guide and protect all the workers both on land and at sea.

LOOK | 19th Feast of Our Lady of Star of the Sea to visit CPA

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) is honored to welcome the sacred image of Our Lady of Star of the Sea on August 17, 2026 at 10:00am as part of the preparations for the celebration of the 19th Feast, the 31st National Seafarers' Day and the World Day of Migrants.

Upon her arrival on Monday, a holy mass will be conducted immediately. All CPA Personnel and port stakeholders are encouraged to be at the entrance of the CPA office and waive their flowers and flaglets to welcome the Image of Our Lady.

The sacred pilgrim will be staying at the CPA office overnight until it is transferred to the next designated host. CPA Personnel and port stakeholders are also requested to prepare rose flowers to be offered to the image after Holy Communion. During the stay of the pilgrim, an hourly Rosary may be prayed by the CPA personnel and stakeholders.

All CPA personnel and interested port stakeholders are highly encouraged to attend the nine-day Novena Mass and Feast Day from September 19 to 27, 2026.

This year’s theme, “A journey with Mary, the Star of the Sea: Steadfast through the waves, Resilient amidst Challenges” mirrors the journey of our maritime people especially our seafarers who make countless faith and sacrifices for their families and to the nation.

May Our Lady of Star of the Sea, continue to protect and guide all CPA personnel especially seafarers and their families as they journey across the seas.

LOOK | CPA Statement on the Public Consultation on the Proposed 25% Increase across the board in Cargo Handling Tariff for Domestic Cargoes for ports of Cebu

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) conducted a Public Consultation with Cebu Port stakeholders, today, 14 August 2026 at CPA Social Hall A and via CPA Facebook Livestream regarding the request of Port of Cebu Association of Cargo Handling Operators, Inc. (PCACHOI) on the proposed 25% increase in Domestic Cargo Handling Tariff.

The request was formally raised and requested by the PCACHOI because of the increasing operating costs including the inflation, rising wages and the fuel price volatility.

During the consultation, representatives from various shipping sectors, cargo handling and business industry raised questions and recommendations regarding the proposed increase that includes the basis of 25% adjustment, the approval and implementation process and the possibility of a staggered implementation.

The authority has made no final decision on the proposed increase since CPA will have to consolidate the position papers and feedback from port stakeholders to be evaluated thoroughly before it is presented to the CPA Board. Deadline for the port stakeholders to submit its position papers will be on 24th of August 2026, Monday, at 5PM.

CPA assures all port stakeholders that the proposed tariff increase will undergo an appropriate and thorough review and deliberation before any decision on its approval or implementation is made.

The public consultation was conducted in order for the participating port stakeholders to have an opportunity to hear the proposal, raise concerns and questions, and submit their respective stands on the requested adjustment.

For reference, current Rates for Domestic Cargo Handling Tariff is CPA Memorandum Circular 04-2022 may be accessed in CPA website www.cpa.gov.ph.

LOOK | PRIMEX visits CPA for the update of ongoing SRNP Feasibility Study

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) General Manager Francisco C. Comendador III welcomed representatives from Pacific Rim Innovation and Management Exponents, Inc. (PRIMEX) today, August 10, 2026 regarding the ongoing update of the Feasibility Study for the proposed San Ramon Newport Project (SRNP) in Zamboanga City.

Present during the meeting were CPA representatives, Senior Terminal Operations Officer Mr. James Cirilo, Business Marketing Officer Mr. Rey Jr. Malilong and Port Manager of CIP Mr. Bernard L. Macuto and Acting Manager of ESD Engr. Romel G. Pegarom. Visitors from PRIMEX were Joselito P. Supangco, Team Leader and Engr. Ma. Lourdes M. Manatad, Port Engineer.

The visit aimed to fully coordinate with CPA and gather relevant information and data that may serve as inputs to the ongoing feasibility study.

The authority is committed to support any knowledge-sharing and inter-agency coordination toward the development of sustainable port infrastructure.
