"CRISING" ACCELERATES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AND IS NOW IN THE VICINITY OF LANAO DEL SUR
Hazards affecting land areas
Heavy Rainfall:
• Today, light to moderate with at times heavy rains may be experienced over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental.
• Under these conditions, isolated flash flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps. Adjacent or nearby areas may also experience flooding in the absence of such rainfall occurrence due to surface runoff or swelling of river channels.
• PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue local thunderstorm/rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings while the Hydrometeorology Division and River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Centers may issue General Flood Advisories and Basin Flood Bulletins as appropriate.
Severe Winds:
Strong breeze conditions are likely over the localities where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1 is in effect, especially in the coastal and mountainous areas of these localities.

Hazards affecting coastal waters
In the next 24 hours, under the influence of Tropical Depression “CRISING”, moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the seaboards of areas under TCWS #1 (1.2 to 2.8 m). Mariners of small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over these waters. Inexperienced mariners of these vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

• On the forecast track, “CRISING” will continue moving westward or west northwestward and emerge over the Sulu Sea in the next 6 to 12 hours.
• This tropical depression is forecast to weaken into a remnant low within 24 hours.

Location of eye/center: At 7:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "CRISING" was estimated based on all available data at In the vicinity of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur (08.0°N, 124.3°E).
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h.
Movement: Moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h.

• 24 Hour (Tomorrow morning): 310 km West of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental (9.3°N, 120.5°E)

Impacts of Wind
• Very light or no damage to low risk structures,
• Light damage to medium to high risk structures
• Slight damage to some houses of very light materials or makeshift structures in exposed communities. Some banana plants are tilted, a few downed and leaves are generally damaged
• Twigs of small trees may be broken.
• Rice crops, however, may suffer significant damage when it is in its flowering stage.

TCWS #1 in other areas is hereby lifted.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today.
