The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu, led by District Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales, hosted a productive meeting with key stakeholders on July 17, 2024. The event brought together representatives from prominent Super Green Lane (SGL) importers and logistics companies to foster collaboration and address pressing concerns within the industry.
District Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales, Deputy Collector for Assessment Atty. Marc Anthony C. Patriarca, and Assessment Division Chief Atty. Kenneth Kernn A. Sesante spearheaded the discussions. The meeting gathered notable industry representatives, including Manolito Dapat, Catrina Jane Lastimado, and Limeul Brasona of CJL / Coca-Cola; Jacob Pedenios of HP/Kintetsu; Dave Edward Searez and Karen Jay Briones of Cargill; Ariel Castro of SCG/Mariwasa Connel; Marven Caborog of San Miguel Foods Inc.; Jester Alfante of Oneworld Alliance / Universal Robina Corp.; Michael Echavez of Lao Customs Brokerage; Lyca dela Pieza of Rollway Customs Brokerage; CJ Garia of Monde Nissin; Ely Bondin of Zenith / DP World; and Alvin Dadacay.
The forum emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration between the Port of Cebu and its stakeholders. District Collector Rosales stated, "We are committed to streamlining processes and addressing challenges faced by our partners. This meeting exemplifies our dedication to improving trade facilitation and fostering a transparent and efficient customs environment."
Open dialogue between the Port and industry representatives focused on optimizing SGL processes, advancements in customs technology, and measures to reduce trade bottlenecks. This collaborative exchange fostered a platform for generating ideas and solutions, reaffirming the shared goal of promoting efficient trade practices.
Under the leadership of District Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales and with guidance from Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, the Port of Cebu remains committed to upholding its mandate of lawful revenue collection, trade facilitation, and robust border protection. The Port will continue to engage with stakeholders in creating a more seamless and dynamic trading environment in the Central Visayas Region.
