Wanderlust runs deep in our DNA, but sometimes the most extraordinary destinations are right here at home.

Alaska remains one of my all-time favorites. You can cruise through glacier-lined fjords, road trip across vast wilderness and chase the Northern Lights all in one journey. Its scale and natural beauty are truly beyond compare.

Some highlights from my epic 10 day road trip include:

🔸Unseasonably seeing the northern lights
🔸Experiencing some of the most incredible scenery while driving and hiking

Antarctica is a place that shifts something inside you ❄️

I’ll never forget the moment I heard nothing - no wind, no voices, just the gentle sound of waves brushing against the ice. It was a kind of silence that stays with you.

Then came the moments that took my breath away: an avalanche happening right in front of me, baby penguins learning to waddle, others gliding effortlessly through the water, and the exhilaration of the polar plunge. It’s the kind of experience that evokes feelings beyond anything words can express.

We believe travel is so much more than visiting new places - it reshapes the way you think, feel, and see the world.

The Maldives is often seen as a honeymoon destination—but it’s truly so much more. I visited on a mother–daughter trip while pregnant, and it couldn’t have been a more special way to experience these islands.

Highlights included:
🔸Dining in the gorgeous underwater restaurant at the resort, while colorful fish and sharks swam overhead
🔸Relaxing massages in the stunning spa
🔸Enjoying the cotton candy sunsets

We often get asked if splurging on a hotel is really worth it—and honestly, the answer is: it depends.

For us, luxury isn’t just about spending more, it’s about access that transforms the experience. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Banff is the perfect example.

There are special places… and then there’s Il San Pietro 🇮🇹

The moment I set foot at Il San Pietro, I never wanted to leave. Tucked into the cliffs near the heart of Positano, this iconic Italian hideaway feels like a dream. I arrived by boat gliding past the colorful buildings and cliffs feeling like I was cast in The White Lotus.

The property is truly an oasis — quiet, luxurious, and intimate, with a private beach club, a seaside tennis court, and an outdoor gym nestled beneath a lemon arbor. Being family-owned, its service is the true definition of Italian hospitality.

We stayed in Carlino’s Room — the founder’s former apartment — with its corner terrace that has the most breathtaking views which are featured in this post. It also makes for stunning photos (we hired a professional photographer for our babymoon).

Highlights included al fresco breakfast overlooking the Amalfi coast and a romantic dinner under the moonlight at Michelin-starred Zass, our favorite meal of the trip. There are also a variety of onsite experiences including wine tastings, cooking classes, guided tours of their organic garden, and even lessons in Italian.

"‘Is it safe?’
That was by far the most common reaction when I shared I was going to Colombia.

It's not an unreasonable question to ask when news and media (re: Narcos) shape so much of our perspective on a destination, people or culture. However, it is important to remember there is always more to the story.

Yes, two decades ago, Colombia was in a very different chapter — cartels, violence, instability. But today? It’s a vibrant, welcoming destination and a powerful example of what’s possible when people demand change.

Interestingly enough, the question I most frequently received while in Colombia about the US was also "is it safe?" (re: gun violence).

Perspective.

There is nothing that will provide you greater perceptive than traveling.

Nestled in the foothills of Ecuador’s Northern Andes, Hacienda Zuleta is a historic 17th-century working farm that has been in the family of former president Galo Plaza Lasso for generations. Rich in history and heart, it’s a place where heritage meets hospitality.

From hiking, biking and horseback riding to cooking classes and indulgent farm-to-table meals (including their incredible house-made cheeses), every moment here was memorable.

We also had the chance to visit the on-property Andean condor conservation project, a powerful and moving experience, and of course spent time with the resident pups, who take their role as the welcome committee very seriously.

If you're headed to the Galapagos, a stay at Zuleta is the perfect way to round out your trip!

I’ve dreamed of visiting Machu Picchu for as long as I can remember. Never did I imagine I'd experience it with my little one by my side.

What you don’t see in these photos: the blazing sun, the hat he refused to wear, or the toddler meltdown as we reached the summit after climbing what felt like an endless staircase.

Traveling with kids is not easy. But watching them experience new cultures, landscapes, and people—especially in a place as awe-inspiring as Peru—is something that will shape them for a lifetime. The challenges are real, but the memories...absolutely worth it.

Fall Foliage in New England is hard to top 🍁

We recently fell in love with the charming Woodstock Inn located in Vermont. It’s a great place to enjoy the beautiful scenery, indulge in locally sourced food and cozy up by the fire. They also offer workout classes, tennis lessons, board games and relaxing spa treatments.

Uchisar or Goreme? We’re glad we experienced both!

A few things to note:

✨ You can find 5* accommodations in Uchisar not likely in Goreme

✨ Balloons take off in Goreme so they will appear here first and eventually drift to Uchisar (how close depends on the direction the wind takes them)

✨ The temperature in Uchisar is, on average, 10 degrees F cooler than Goreme due to the higher elevation

✨ Uchisar is a quieter town than Goreme
Tip: hotels reserve their rooftops at sunrise exclusively for their guests. Another reason to find a place with a prime viewing location!
