🚨 MARINA Opens SID, SRB Appointment Slots Until December 2026; Warns vs Scalpers⚓️

: The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) has opened appointment slots for Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) and Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) applications nationwide through December 2026, in a move to ease demand and improve access to essential services for Filipino seafarers.

Data from MARINA’s Manpower Development Service (MDS) show that 320 daily slots each for SRB and SID, and 375 slots for combined transactions, are now available across the MARINA Central Office, satellite offices, and regional offices nationwide.

To further accommodate applicants, the MARINA Central Office has also opened additional appointment slots every Saturday from March until June 2026.

Tensions remain high in the Strait of Hormuz as the vital global shipping route faces ongoing disruption amid the US-Israel and Iran conflict. 🌍⚓

A two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran includes provisions for “safe passage,” but reports indicate that vessels are still receiving threats of being “targeted and destroyed” if they attempt to cross without clearance. 🚢⚠️

As a result, only a limited number of ships have successfully transited the strait in recent days, raising concerns over global trade, oil supply, and seafarer safety. 📉

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as uncertainty persists in one of the world’s most critical maritime corridors.
