Hackers began revealing the breached data of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) one day after the expiration of a $300,000 (approximately 17 million PHP) ransom demand.
The "Medusa Group" targeted PhilHealth's data on September 22, with PhilHealth asserting that the hackers' claim was "clearly an empty threat."
Initial analysis indicates that the exposed data primarily pertained to PhilHealth employees and did not compromise the private information of their members.
