EXPLORE & DISCOVER: These are the pictures I have taken personally during our stay at Mambukal Mountain Resort, located at Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental, at the foot of Mount Kanlaon, is an excellent place for nature lovers and people seeking serenity and equanimity. The sulfur filled hot spring is one of its attractions which we enjoyed. For people seeking new adventure and experience, Mambukal is definitely it. It's worth exploring.

EXPLORE & DISCOVER. This is a replica of one of the three Galleons named "NUESTRA SENORA DEL PILAR" part of the 108 vessels which were in operation during the Manila - Acapulco trade between 1565 - 1815. Two of them sank. The first "Nuestra Senora Del Pilar" sank in the Southern Coast of Guam in 1690 and the second sank near Manila Bay in 1750. The third Galleon, represented by this replica, sailed from Manila to Acapulco in 1741. The British under the command of Commodore George Anson tried to capture this vessel but it arrived safely in Acapulco on January 9, 1742.

EXPLORE & DISCOVER. As you go inside and explore the historic San Agustin Church you'll find Grand Escalera, the main stairway leading to the upper floor. This 44 steps stairway are granite blocks imported from Canton, China, constructed in 1863 by architect Luciano Oliver. As you go up the stairway you will see paintings of mostly Agustinian saints and martyrs. I felt like being in a European medieval castle.

EXPLORE & DISCOVER. I visited San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila, which used to be the center of the Agustinian efforts to evangelise the Philippines. The experience was spiritually uplifting because every rooms, alleyways, gardens, stairways, etc. in this stone edifice are rich in historic and religious significance and just by walking inside it felt like being transported back in time. It gave me the mystical feeling of what it was like to live then during the time of the first Christian missionaries, the Augustinian friars, who played a very pivotal role in shaping the Philippines as Asia's only Catholic nation. EXPLORE & DISCOVER. Who would ever thought that there is still a place of solitude in the midst of all the frantic movements in busy Manila. I used to go to Luneta during my younger days but did not bother to explore the park for it was simply about the statue of Rizal to me then. The place I am referring to is the Chinese Garden which I find well kept and very refreshing. If one is looking for a place to seek refuge for spiritual regeneration, I definitely recommend this place.
