𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗞, 𝗣𝗗𝗘𝗔, 𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗞-𝗖𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗧𝗙, 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝟲𝗠 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗯𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗖𝗧𝗩 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀

Consistent to President Rodrigo Duterte’s fight against illegal drugs and Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero’s mandate to intensify anti-illegal drugs campaign, the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) - Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), seized one (1) kilogram of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu) with an estimated value of Php 6,126,800.00 concealed inside four (4) CCTV cameras, an export shipment bound for Auckland, New Zealand.

Acting on a reliable information that an export shipment declared as “CCTV Camera and Video Recorder” contains illegal drugs, the ESS-CAIDTF coordinated with the port’s Export Unit and CIIS to put on hold the said shipment. Thereafter, physical examination was conducted on the subject shipment in the presence of CIIS personnel, ESS-CAIDTF and PDEA agents, which yielded six (6) packs of suspected Shabu concealed inside four (4) CCTV cameras. PDEA Chemical Laboratory Analysis Report confirmed the same as Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu).

District Collector Alexandra Lumontad issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention against the subject shipment for violation of Section 118 (g), 119 (d) and 1113 par. f & l (3 & 4) of R.A. 10863 otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) in relation to R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On August 27, 2021, the subject illegal drugs were turned over to PDEA pursuant to Customs Administrative Order No. 03-2020.

The Port of Clark, under the leadership of Commissioner Guerrero, will continuously strengthen its effort against illegal drugs through consistent coordination with PDEA and CAIDTF to support the continuing war of President Rodrigo Duterte against prohibited drugs.

𝗕𝗢𝗖-𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗣 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝗽 𝟭𝟮𝟬 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁𝘀

As part of the Bureau of Customs' (BOC) commitment to border security, the Manila International Container Port (MICP), through the Port's Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (MICP-CIIS) in coordination with Enforcement and Security Service (MICP-ESS) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), on August 22, 2021 seized 4 luxury yachts moored at Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), Manila.

The said vessels were seized by virtue of a seizure order issued by MICP District Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales in accordance with Section 1113 of RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA). The vessels were identified as Le Boss (approx 70 footer), Yuzhen8 (approx 55 footer), Yua Hal Ming Zhu (approx 110 footer, and Gu Cheng Gang Guan (approx 59 footer).

Estimated to have a market value of Php 120 Million, the yachts were being utilized as transport services, residence and were being commercially offered as venues for events and for private use without the necsessary conversion permit for local use as well as the payment of proper duties and taxes.

In his statement, MICP Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales stressed that vehicles including water vessels must be imported in accordance to Philippine Customs Laws and registered to Philippine authorities such as the Philippine Marina.

MICP remains focused to its mandate to guard against smuggling under the guidance of BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero.
