4,496 kgs meat and meat products without permits confiscated to prevent African Swine Fever outbreak

3,084 live species saved from illegal importation, exportation and wildlife trade

358 pcs of concealed live ammunitions intercepted

48 cases of import/export of illegal drugs busted

46 pcs smuggled gun parts intercepted

10 pcs smuggled pistols/rifles intercepted

8% revenue contribution higher than last year

The Bureau of Customs, through its heightened intelligence and enforcement capabilities, has successfully conducted 24 anti-smuggling operations in the first half of 2019, resulting in the seizure of more than P2.637 billion smuggled and fake goods.

𝗕𝗢𝗖-𝗜𝗚 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 “𝟴𝟰𝟴𝟰” 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲

In its fight to rid the Bureau of Customs (BOC) of corrupt officials and employees, the BOC Intelligence Group (IG) has recently launched “8484,” a special text hotline number.

The said text hotline will allow the public to directly report any BOC official or employee of their irregular transactions as well as Brokers/Importers/Fixers and other entities involved in smuggling, bribery, illegal drugs and other illegal activities.

By sending a text message to 8484 with the complete details of who, what, when, where, why and how (5Ws and 1H), citizens who transact with the BOC can send all suspected corruption-related incidents and be assured that their reports are handled with utmost confidentiality and processed immediately.

This special reporting hotline system was established for the public in order to voice their complaints without fear of retaliation and most importantly, to help the bureau get rid of corrupt practices from among its ranks.

The 8484 hotline, in cooperation with a third-party provider, is initially available for Globe-TM users 24/7.

Earlier, Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero directed all District Collectors to check their subordinates and make sure that they do their jobs properly.

“Set a good example for them to follow - do not commit graft and corruption,” the Customs chief added.
