Jetstar Expands into the Philippines with New Direct Routes from November and December 2025
by Maria Renker
Jetstar Airways is an Australian low‑cost carrier established in 2003 by Qantas to compete in the budget airline sector. Since launching operations in May 2004, the airline has carried over 400 million passengers, transforming affordable travel across Australia and beyond.
Operating a modern fleet of Airbus A320 family jets, A321LRs, and Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Jetstar offers both domestic services and expanding international routes . As of mid‑2025, it had one of the Asia‑Pacific’s largest low‑fare networks in terms of revenue, with more than 5,000 weekly flights serving over 85 destinations.
Jetstar is set to significantly boost connectivity between Australia and the Philippines by launching two direct routes later this year:
Manila to Perth and back, starting November 27, 2025, operating year‑round, three times per week onboard Airbus A321LR aircraft .
Cebu to Brisbane and back, starting December 3, 2025, a seasonal route also offered three times weekly on the same aircraft type.
This service expansion will add more than 108,000 low‑fare seats annually, facilitating easier travel and fostering tourism, trade, and family reunions between the regions
Strategically, the rollout aligns with Jetstar’s broader fleet modernization, including the redeployment of Boeing 787s and integration of fuel‑efficient A321LRs and A320neo jets.
