⁨⁩ ⁨ | The Bureau of Customs (BOC), through the Water Patrol Division (WPD) of the Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), Enforcement Group (EG), joined the 3rd Balangay Forum on 17 September 2026, in observance of Maritime Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo).

The forum gathered government agencies, maritime stakeholders, experts, and representatives from the private sector and academe to discuss maritime security, the blue economy, and regional cooperation. Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. highlighted the importance of national convergence and regional cooperation in safeguarding the Philippines’ maritime interests.

Under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, the BOC continues to strengthen inter-agency coordination and maritime law enforcement to help protect the country’s maritime domain and support a secure and resilient maritime nation. Philippines’ maritime interests.⁩

The Bureau of Customs Subport of Mactan, under the leadership of Port Collector Gerardo A. Campo, LCB, MPA, together with the Aircraft Operations Division Chief Ms. Alpha Grace Castro, LCB, MPA, conducted an interactive meeting with airline operators, agents, and warehouse representatives of Mactan Cebu International Airport.

Held at the Collector's Hall, the meeting brought together key stakeholders involved in airport cargo and aircraft operations to strengthen coordination, promote efficient customs procedures and address operational concerns affecting the movement of goods through the airport.

The interactive session served as a platform for the Bureau and industry stakeholders to share insights, clarify customs procedures, and address challenges encountered in their daily operations. The discussions highlighted the need for continued cooperation between the Customs Administration and the private sector to promote compliance with customs laws and regulations while supporting the smooth and efficient movement of legitimate trade.

Port Collector Campo stressed the importance of sustaining open and constructive communication with stakeholders as the Subport of Mactan remains committed to improving its services, strengthening operational efficiency, and responding effectively to the needs of the trading community.

“Let us continue working together in the spirit of cooperation and partnership. Through open communication and shared commitment, we can provide better service and contribute to a more efficient and business-friendly pod environment, “said Port Collector Campo.

Meanwhile, Aircraft Operations Division Chief Alpha Grace Castro spearheaded the engagement with representatives from airlines and warehouses, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and shared accountability in ensuring the smooth, transparent, and compliant conduct of airport operations.

Under the dynamic leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, and with the continued guidance of District Collector Atty. Zsae Carrie C. De Guzman, the BOC Subport of Mactan reiterated its commitment to stakeholder engagement as part of its continuing efforts to improve customs administration, facilitate legitimate trade, and provide responsive government service at Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
