There’s a statue at the University of Tokyo most people never see: Hachiko leaping into his owner’s arms. After 9 years of showing up to an empty train station, they’re finally reunited.

His owner never came back. Hachiko never stopped believing he would.

This statue isn’t about a dog.
It’s about every heart that refused to give up when giving up was easier.

📍PRO TIP:
Most visitors only see the famous Hachiko statue outside Shibuya Station and leave. But there’s much more nearby you can enjoy for FREE:

1. Walk the Shibuya Scramble Crossing at night for the full Tokyo energy
2. Visit MAGNET by Shibuya109 rooftop for one of the best crossing views
3. Explore Miyash*ta Park , rooftop greenery, skate park, cafes & city views
4. Stroll through Nonbei Yokocho (“Drunkard’s Alley”) for old Tokyo atmosphere
5. Visit Shibuya Sky area at sunset, even the streets around it are beautiful for photos
6. Walk to Yoyogi Park or Meiji Jingu for a peaceful escape from the city noise
7. Explore Center G*i for neon lights, arcades, music, and street culture

💡Another hidden detail:
The real Hachiko used to wait at Shibuya Station every single day at almost the exact same time. Today, the statue has become one of the most common meeting points in Japan.
