In a survey conducted by Mond Ortiz on the selection of the best flight attendant uniforms in 2024, Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Emirates emerged as the top choices among respondents. Does your Passport meet current travel requirements for European Union travel?

Many of our friends are traveling internationally this summer to European destinations. To make sure you are up to speed on passport rules and regulations, we're providing the following information for your review - and action if appropriate:

If you are a non-EU national planning to visit or travel within the EU, here are the passport validity requirements:

> Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you intend to leave the EU.

> It must have been issued within the last 10 years.

In other words, your travel document should have been issued within the previous 10 years on the day you enter the EU, and it must remain valid until the end of your stay plus an additional 3 months.

Remember that children and minors must have their own passport and visa if required. Additionally, you might need to provide other supporting documents to border officials upon arrival, such as an invitation letter, proof of lodging, or a return or round-trip ticket. For precise requirements, contact the embassy or consulate of the specific EU country you intend to visit1.

Keep in mind that these rules apply to short stays (up to 90 days in any 180-day period) and transit through international transit areas of airports in the Schengen area. The Schengen area includes 27 European countries, including 23 EU countries and 4 non-EU countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland). However, EU visa rules do not fully apply to Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania, and they do not apply at all to Ireland. These countries issue visas under their own national rules.
