🏥 MAJOR EVMC EXPANSION BREAKS GROUND THIS OCTOBER

Eastern Visayas Medical Center is preparing for a major upgrade with a ₱5-billion expansion project in Tacloban City.

At the center of the development is a new 12-story Legacy Building, with ₱800 million already allocated for the initial phase. Construction will begin with site development and the first three floors, while additional funding is expected in the succeeding years.
Once completed, the facility will provide more space for outpatient care, dialysis, laboratories, pharmacy services and advanced diagnostic equipment such as CT scan, MRI, ultrasound and mammography.
A bridge will also connect the new structure to EVMC’s existing main building.

Most significantly, the expansion is intended to raise EVMC’s authorized capacity from 500 to 1,500 beds, providing much-needed additional healthcare capacity for patients across Eastern Visayas.

Construction is expected to begin this October 2026.
