TRAVEL ADVISORY from DPWH Southern Leyte DEO as of April 12, 2022
We would like to inform the public that the Mahaplag-Sogod Road Section is TEMPORARILY CLOSED to vehicular traffic following a landslide in Brgy. Pancho Villa, Sogod, Southern Leyte (K1015+550) caused by continuous rainfall due to Tropical Storm “Agaton.” This is also in addition to the road advisory of Leyte 5th DEO regarding the damage in Hilusig Bridge Approach B in Mahaplag, Leyte which rendered said road section not passable.
The following alternate routes are hereby recommended: From Tacloban going to Panaon Area (including Liloan Port) • take the Tacloban – Ormoc – Baybay – Bato – Bontoc – Sogod – Jct. Daang Maharlika – Liloan - San Ricardo road route & vice versa, or
• take the Tacloban – Ormoc – Baybay – Bato – Bdry. Maasin – Malitbog – Sogod – Jct. Daang Maharlika – Liloan - San Ricardo road route & vice versa
• take the Tacloban – Bdry. Abuyog – Silago – Jct. Himay-angan - Liloan - San Ricardo road route & vice versa (For Light Vehicles only)
From Tacloban going to Pacific Towns
• take the Tacloban – Ormoc – Baybay – Bato – Bontoc – Sogod – Jct. Daang Maharlika – Liloan - San Ricardo road route & vice versa, or
• take the Tacloban – Bdry. Abuyog – Silago – Jct. Himay-angan road route & vice versa (For Light Vehicles only)
