Naran is a medium sized town in upper Kaghan Valley of Mansehra District situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Elevated 8,202 feet or 2,500 meters above sea level, Naran is one of the most scenic valleys in Pakistan; attracting thousands of tourists, trekkers, photographers and nature-enthusiast, every year. The Kunhar River, swollen by glacier melt, passes through this town as it meanders its way through the valley. Naran can be considered as base station to scenic destinations like Lake Saif-ul-Malook, Lalazar Babusar, Noori VAlley and Purbi Valley. Saiful Mulook:
Saiful Mulook is an alpine lake located at the northern end of the Kaghan Valley near the town of Naran. It is in the north east of Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. At an altitude of 3,224 m (10,578 feet) above sea level it is amongst one of the highest lakes in Pakistan. There is also a similar named fictional story associated with the lake. Weather here is moderate during day time while the temperature drops to negative temperatures at night. Lulusar Lake:
Lulusar Lake, at 3,410 m (11,190 ft), is the primary headwaters of the Kunhar River. It flows southwest through the entire length of Kaghan Valley passing Jalkhand, Naran, Kaghan, Jared, Paras and Balakot until its confluence with the Jhelum River. Lulusar Lake marks the historic place where fifty-five participants of the 1857 Indian war of independence were arrested. The lake is much larger than other lakes in the Kaghan Valley, and has mirror-like water reflecting the surrounding snow capped Lulusar mountains, creating a natural tourist attraction. In the summer many domestic and international visitors make the lake and Lulusar-Dudipatsar National Park a destination. Babusar Top:
From Gittidas east of the lake the Naran-Babusar road goes through the Babusar Pass, which is the highest point in the Kaghan Valley (el.4,173 metres (13,691 ft)), to the Karakoram Highway and mountaineering hub of Gilgit. Shogran:
Shogran is a village situated on a green plateau in the Kaghan Valley, northern Pakistan at a height of 7,749 feet or 2,362 metres above sea level. From Shogran, you can ride a jeep or horse or hike to several picturesque places like Siri, Paye and Makra Peak. Siri-paye:
Siri and paye is 6 Kilimeters away from Shogran. Siri, Paye Lake is situated near Shogran in the Kaghan Valley in Pakistan. It is situated at the height of almost 3,000 m (10,000 feet). It is surrounded by Makra Peak, Malka Parbat, Moosa da Musalla and the mountains of Kashmir.
