Sharing a few moments from our guests from Mexico, who recently experienced Pakistan with Crossroads Adventure. 🇲🇽🇵🇰

For their journey to Fairy Meadows, the group reached Raikot from two different directions, some coming from Naran and others from Shigar. They met at Raikot for lunch before continuing together.

From there, local 4WD jeeps took them to Tato Village, followed by around 2.5 hours of hiking through the mountains and pine forests to reach Fairy Meadows.

It takes a little effort to get here, but perhaps that is part of what makes Fairy Meadows so special. The smiles in these pictures probably tell the story better than we can.

For anyone planning to experience Fairy Meadows, here are a few practical things worth knowing:

• Moderate fitness is necessary if you plan to hike to Fairy Meadows.

• You will be staying at over 3,000 metres, so if you have any breathing or respiratory-related health condition, it is important to seek medical advice before planning the hike or overnight stay.

• Pack light. Depending on your itinerary, you will normally need to carry only what you require for a day or two. Your main luggage can remain at Raikot while you take a small backpack with you.

• Carry your essential personal medicines and some basic medication with you.

• The jeep track from Raikot to Tato Village is rough and bumpy. People with serious back problems should carefully consider whether the jeep ride is suitable for them.

• Try to leave Raikot no later than 2:00 PM. You still have the jeep ride and approximately 2.5 hours of hiking ahead, and it is always better to reach Fairy Meadows before dark.

A few memories from a beautiful corner of Pakistan with our guests from Mexico.

some people look at a landscape. Photographers wait for it to speak. đź“·

In Hopper Valley, our photographers wandered among the blossoms with their cameras, sometimes stopping for the mountains, sometimes for a tree, a village scene, or simply the way the light fell across the valley.

And Hopper gives a photographer plenty to work with. The valley sits among some of the great landscapes of the Karakoram, with the Hopper/Bualtar glacier system descending close to the villages and Spantik (Golden Peak, ~7,027 m) rising above the wider landscape. The surrounding Nagar region is also home to Miar Peak (6,824 m), Diran (7,266 m) and Rakaposhi (7,788 m).

In spring, there is an extraordinary contrast here — blossoming orchards below, glaciers and high mountains above.

Nature provided the setting. Their eyes found the stories.

Work, with a view.

A quiet moment at Eagle’s Nest, Hunza — our international guests catching up on a little work while experiencing Pakistan at a relaxed pace.

Because a well-designed journey leaves room not only to explore, but also to slow down and enjoy where you are.

Derawar Fort, Cholistan Desert 🇵🇰

Deep in the Cholistan Desert, around 100 km from Bahawalpur, stands one of Pakistan’s most impressive forts — Derawar.

The first thing that strikes you is its size. Its 40 huge bastions rise above an otherwise open desert landscape and can be seen from miles away. The area has a long history connected with desert settlements and old caravan routes. Derawar and the Desert Forts of Cholistan are also on Pakistan’s UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.

Getting there:
Bahawalpur is the best base for exploring Cholistan.
Lahore → Bahawalpur → Derawar Fort
Islamabad → Multan → Bahawalpur → Derawar Fort
Karachi → Bahawalpur → Derawar Fort

If you're making the journey, don't visit only the fort. Spend some time exploring Bahawalpur, the Cholistan Desert, the Abbasi Royal Graveyard and the historic mosque near Derawar.

Best time: October to March.
Allow at least 2–3 days for Bahawalpur and Cholistan.
For international travellers wanting to see more of Pakistan beyond the northern mountains, a great route is:
Islamabad → Lahore → Multan → Bahawalpur → Cholistan → Karachi

A very different side of Pakistan, and one that is still well away from the usual tourist trail.

Today we are staying inside the Ancient City of Kashgar. Unlike large modern hotels, this historic quarter is filled with small guesthouses, boutique hotels, and family-run homestays that offer a genuine glimpse into local life.
This evening our hosts invited us into their home for dinner, and their kindness and hospitality made the experience even more memorable.
If Kashgar is on your travel list, don’t miss the Ancient City. Beyond its beautiful old streets and traditional architecture, you’ll find vibrant bazaars, welcoming people, and a living culture that reflects centuries of history along the Silk Road.
Experiences like these are what make travel truly meaningful. ❤️

Just back from two days of magic at Fairy Meadows!

It was a fantastic experience sharing this iconic landscape with our group from Malaysia. After taking in the views of Nanga Parbat, we’ve made our way down and are spending today in Gilgit.

Nothing beats the peace of the meadows. Here are a few shots from our stay!
