The port authorities have announced that once the unloading process is finished, the cargo vessel will set sail for India.
Back in December 2019, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) welcomed the largest container-laden ship ever to dock in Pakistan. This massive container vessel, known as the 'Cosco Belgium,' anchored at the South Wharf area of Karachi Port.
The 'Cosco Belgium' set a new record with its impressive specifications, boasting a length overall (LOA) of 366 meters, the highest gross registered tonnage (GRT) of 153,666 metric tonnes, and a maximum beam of 51.20 meters.
This Hong Kong-flagged vessel arrived at SAPT-3 berths at 8:10 pm local Pakistan time, under the direct command and supervision of Deputy Conservator KPT, Captain Asif Ahmed Saeed Tauni, with stringent safety measures in place.
Before this, Karachi Port had handled vessels with LOA measuring 354.24 meters, GRT of 128,929 metric tonnes, and a beam of 45.6 meters.
