Planning a luxury yacht charter? Here's what you need to know:
💳 APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)
APA is not an extra fee, it's a prepaid budget, typically 25–35% of the charter fee, used to cover your variable expenses during the trip, including:
• Fuel
• Food & beverages
• Marina & port fees
• Special requests and provisions
Your Captain manages the APA, keeps detailed receipts, and at the end of the charter you'll receive a full expense statement. Unused funds are refunded, while any additional expenses are settled after the trip.
🌍 What about VAT?
VAT (Value Added Tax) is separate from the APA and is applied to the charter fee according to the country or itinerary. The applicable rate varies depending on where your charter takes place and local regulations.
