Passionate about blue tiles 💙 (azulejos) and in Porto?

Then you will love these ones!!
These blue tiles are not located in downtown Porto (Baixa).

📍Igreja do Sagrado Coração de Jesus it's an 18th-century building—owned by the Confraternity of the same name since 1886.

It was originally dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and the Divine Holy Spirit. Following the creation of the Parish of the Heart of Jesus of Carvalhido in 1940 it served as the parish church.

It was during this period that the azulejo tiles by F. Luiz Pereira were installed on the façade.

We didn't drive throughout the 98 hectares of vineyards 🍇🫒 but this was impressive and enjoyable - it's the least I can say 😎

Day trip 🚗 to Aveiro from Porto

So, you are in Porto and you wish to go to 📍 Aveiro for a full day trip. I would consider adding more stops along the way (back) to make it count 💪🏼 🇵🇹 here are some suggestions 👇🏼

👉 📍 Capela do Senhor da Pedra it's one of Portugal's most unusual chapels and it stands on a rocky outcrop with its back to the sea. It's one of the few places in the world where you can be surrounded by the sea without getting your feet wet.

👉 If it's Monday, 📍 Espinho holds one of the biggest, if not the biggest feira (weekly market) of Portugal. It's great to see how sellers, producers engage with locals and people that come from all over the area (even from abroad) to get local fresh food and so much more - best time to go is until past lunch time.

👉 📍 Igreja Matriz de Santa Marinha de Cortegaça - named a building of Public Interest in 2013, this church was built between 1910 and 1918. The façade, imposing due to its height is flanked by two towers and is entirely covered with beautiful blue tiles - worth seeing it!

👉 📍 Igreja Matriz de Válega - Construction begun in 1746 but the work took over a century to complete. The church is extensive and high with a bell tower integrated in the façade. The façade is completely covered with polychrome tiles laid in 1960 from the Aleluia factory with figurative themes of biblical origin. The interior, also covered with polychrome tiles, has a ceiling covered exotic wood, donated in the mid-twentieth century by the Oliveira Lopes family. The stained glass windows, designed in Madrid and from the 1960's...

De 📍 Regoufe a Drave pelo trilho 🚩 PR14 🚶‍♂️ são à volta de 4km ou 2h...

Não é por acaso que toda esta zona é rodeada pelas também conhecidas "Montanhas Mágicas", as quais não passam despercebidas. A Natureza e Portugal estão muito bem retratados 🙌🏼

🇬🇧 On our way to the "Magical Village" of Drave.

From the 📍 village of Regoufe (Arouca) to the abandoned village of 👉🏼 Drave via PR14 🚩 trail 🚶‍♂️ it's 4km, around 2h...

It's not by chance this place is surrounded by the also called "Magical Mountains" as they have a peculiar shape - Nature and Portugal at its best 🙌🏼

🇵🇹 Um belo passeio 🚙 por lugares encantadores do Gerês onde uma das paragens foi em 📍 Cevide.

Cevide é uma pequena aldeia onde oficialmente "Começa Portugal".
Situada na freguesia de Cristóval, no concelho de Melgaço (distrito de Viana do Castelo), esta localidade raiana é o ponto mais a Norte de Portugal (o ponto mais setentrional do território nacional).

Aqui se localiza o Marco de Fronteira n.º 1, colocado há mais de 160 anos na confluência do rio Minho com o rio Trancoso, estabelecendo a divisão oficial entre Portugal e Espanha.

🇬🇧 A lovely tour 🚙 through the enchanting landscapes of Gerês, with a stop at 📍 Cevide.

Cevide is a small village known for where "Portugal begins" - officially speaking.
Located in the civil parish of Cristóval, within the municipality of Melgaço (Viana do Castelo district), this border settlement marks the northernmost point of Portugal (and of the national territory).

This is the site of Border Marker No. 1, placed over 160 years ago at the confluence of the Minho and Trancoso rivers, establishing the official boundary between Portugal and Spain.

Uma das maiores feiras do país (provavelmente a maior) tem lugar em Espinho e realiza-se todas as segundas (salvo excepções!!).

Com bem mais de um século de existência, atrai todo o tipo de visitantes desde os moradores da cidade, turistas e inúmeros curiosos que por aqui passam, não só por causa da enorme diversidade de produtos exposta como também pelo constante regateio entre quem compra e quem vende 😁 ora não fosse tudo isso parte da experiência 🇵🇹
