Just across the Danube from Romania, Ruse is the perfect destination for a quick cultural escape from Bucharest.

Did you know Ruse is often called “Little Vienna” because of its beautiful Austro-Hungarian-inspired architecture? 🏛️

Another fun fact: the city is home to Sexaginta Prista, an ancient Roman fortress whose name means “Port of the Sixty Ships.” ⚔️

And here’s another one: Ruse was one of Bulgaria’s most important Danube ports and became a major gateway for European influences in the 19th century. 🌍
