Al Barakawi International Co. Al Barakawi International Co. Ltd was established in 1993 and is now a leading exporter of agro-commodities from Sudan. Ltd.

is a trading company operating since 1993 in Sudan; it is involved in the following activities:

1. BIC is involved in an import-export business, exporting Sudanese agricultural commodities such as Sesame seed, Sorghum, Gum Arabic, Watermelon seeds, Ground Nut Cakes, Chick Peas & Pigeon Peas.

2. Importing commodities such as Sugar, Rice and finished goods such as spare parts and truck tyres. BIC

also acts as a holding company that manages and monitors all the other trade names it owns.

3. BIC manages a residential and commercial real estate portfolio owned by its shareholders in Khartoum. It manages all the maintenance, renting and acquisitions of the portfolio. The company owns a storage warehouses in Soba Industrial area and another storage warehouse is Horse racing industrial area.

4. The company looks after shares it owns through its shareholders in other companies such as the Sudanese Insurance & Reinsurance Co. and Al Shamal Islamic Bank and others.

5. The company runs a Clearance & Transportation business ‘Captain For Clearance & Transport ’ which is based in Port Sudan and does all the related operation for import and export of BIC and work as agents for several Sudanese companies in Port Sudan, and does all the clearance ,forwarding and transportation of their imported and exported goods. This mix of activities gives BIC strength since its operations which are diversified into different business sectors can help the company to manage its cash flow more efficiently and also use synergy to control its operations cost.
