Today, 10 July, we took delivery of Marinus, the first of two vessels in our 15K series, and the latest step in our Pathway to Zero.

Marinus is everything we know, built into one ship.

Years of running our kind of shipping in the waters we know best , that experience shaped every decision. Safety. Operational efficiency. A good place to work.

Feedback from our crew has been important for the design of this project. Ergonomics, functionality and a safe working environment are non-negotiable, but just as important are comfortable cabins, a gym and spaces to spend time together. A crew that feels at home onboard is crucial for well-functioning daily operations. This is The Sirius Way.

And as Marinus leaves the yard, the first steel has been cut for our next newbuilding. A lot is taking shape at Sirius right now.

Mercurius had an unusual visitor — author and illustrator Emily Gyllenspetz | författare, illustratör, webbdesigner came aboard to research her new book about chief engineer Ylva.

She’s on a mission to make maritime visible to the next generation, and to normalise women in roles that have long been male-dominated. We think that matters.

Our ships are open to people who want to understand what life at sea actually looks like. That’s something we believe in. That this time it found its way into a children’s book feels like a particularly good use of an open door.

The book is out 25 June — well worth a follow.
