Yesterday around 90 new students from Chalmers sjösektion came out to Donsö.

We showed them the island — how a small fishing community turned into one of Sweden’s shipping centres, and how the shipping companies on this island collaborate while still being competitors. Then came tours of the shipping companies, mingling, and a lot of questions.

Days like this matter to us. A lot of the people on board our ships first came to us as cadets or summer deckhands.
Thank you to Shipping at Chalmers sjösektion for arranging the day with us, and to Furetank, Donsötank, Älvtank, Oljola and Styrsöbolaget for the afternoon.

M/T Marinus has now left the shipyard, bound for 🇸🇪.

Today, 10 July, we took delivery of Marinus, the first of two vessels in our 15K series, and the latest step in our Pathway to Zero.

Marinus is everything we know, built into one ship.

Years of running our kind of shipping in the waters we know best , that experience shaped every decision. Safety. Operational efficiency. A good place to work.

Feedback from our crew has been important for the design of this project. Ergonomics, functionality and a safe working environment are non-negotiable, but just as important are comfortable cabins, a gym and spaces to spend time together. A crew that feels at home onboard is crucial for well-functioning daily operations. This is The Sirius Way.

And as Marinus leaves the yard, the first steel has been cut for our next newbuilding. A lot is taking shape at Sirius right now.
