What does travel look like for people living with dialysis today? ✈️🌍

Our Travel Dialysis Confidence Report 2026 explored exactly that. Between March and May 2026, 1,380 dialysis patients from the USA and UK shared their experiences and feelings about travelling.

The findings are encouraging: 75% say travel is personally important, 85% have travelled away from home since starting dialysis, 62% feel confident travelling, and 74% would feel comfortable using an online service to help arrange their dialysis while away.

These numbers show that the desire to travel is very much there, while making planning simpler can help even more people feel ready to go. 💙

When we created the Travel Dialysis Confidence Report 2026, we wanted to understand more than whether people travel. We wanted to understand what travel actually feels like for people on dialysis. 💙

After our initial focus groups, we heard from 1,380 dialysis patients across the USA and UK, helping us identify five important themes.

✈️ Travel still matters. For many patients, it is connected to freedom, family, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of normality.

💭 Confidence is uneven. Previous travel experience can shape how people feel about travelling again.

🤝 Trust is central. Safety, reliable care, clinic credibility, and reassurance can all help travel feel more possible.

🧳 Planning is emotional. It is not only about paperwork or scheduling. The process itself can influence how someone feels about taking a trip.

💗 And through the worry and caution, we also heard hope, determination, and a strong desire to keep life open.
