We Swedes love our cinnamon buns. And the forest. And the archipelago.

Today, we got all three as we explored the islands around Boskapsön, just outside Dalarö in the southern Stockholm archipelago. A pretty great combination, if you ask us.

🎉Lördagen den 5 september firar vi att Sveriges yngsta nationalpark, NĂ€mdöskĂ€rgĂ„rdens nationalpark, fyller 1 Ă„r. 🎉

Följ med oss pÄ en heldagstur till Bullerö, nationalparkens huvudentré. VÀl framme vÀntar ett jubileumsprogram med parkens guidade aktiviteter och förelÀsningar. Tid finns Àven till att Àta medhavd lunch och vandra runt ön pÄ egen hand.

Vi utgĂ„r frĂ„n Dalarö pĂ„ förmiddagen och vĂ€nder hemĂ„t under eftermiddagen. Resan tar ca 45 minuter och pĂ„ vĂ€g ut passerar vi bland annat Dalarö skans, Ornö och nationalparkens myllrande kobbar och skĂ€r - sjĂ€lvklart hĂ„ller vi utkik efter sjöfĂ„gel, sĂ€l och annat djurliv. 🩅🩭

The Stockholm Archipelago is a landscape of contrasts. Forest-covered islands give way to bare, windswept rocks as you make your way further out.

Pine trees, smooth granite, sheltered bays and open sea – all part of the same archipelago.

Friday on the water, lovely guests on board our open boat, dinner at beautiful .island – and a sunset on the way back to the city.

The archipelago changes with the season. So does the experience. 🍂

Migrating birds are on the move, the islands are quieter and there’s time for walks, mushroom picking and exploring ashore. And as the evenings grow darker, there’s more time for stargazing – and, every now and then, a chance of catching the northern lights.

There’s a reason autumn out here is known as the magic season.

And there’s still plenty to experience from the water. We’ll keep heading out well into autumn – with the boat ride, time ashore and the changing landscape all part of the day.
