In conjunction with World Environment Day, we spent the last Saturday morning at West Coast Park taking part in a community clean-up activity.
Although the park looked clean at first glance, our volunteers still found plenty of litter hidden among the grass, pathways and coastal areas. From cigarette butts and plastic pieces to food wrappers and paper cups, these small items can have a lasting impact on our environment if left behind.
To make the activity engaging and educational, teams took part in a friendly challenge where they collected litter, earned points and searched for hidden treasure tokens around the park.
Beyond the clean-up itself, the activity gave us a greater appreciation for the cleaners and waste workers who work tirelessly every day to keep Singapore clean. It also reminded us that protecting the environment starts with the choices we make every day.
A big thank you to the Supply Chain Employees' Union (SCEU) for the frozen treats that our volunteers enjoyed after a meaningful morning of community service. ๐ฆ
