Like many fashion labels, Sufyaa started from humble beginnings. Founded in 2011 out of frustration that many hijabs out there are lacking in design quality and practicality. We decided that this was a project worth undertaking and decided to launch Sufyaa as an online business via a page in April 2011. With the little business knowledge but huge passion for fashion, we design with our own needs in mind as working muslim women in the corporate world. From a small scale self production, we went full steam with production locally and overseas to cater to the growing demand. In 2012, we plucked up the courage to scale our business further and started going into retail. This was a huge milestone for us as it made us one of the early movers of the modest fashion industry in Singapore. With our manufactured designs, we started selling via a pushcart at Century Square (Tampines, Singapore) before setting up our first retail outlet at Tanjong Katong Complex (Paya Lebar, Singapore). The desire to reach out to more ladies led to the birth of our website, www.sufyaa.com.sg, in 2012. Sufyaa was honoured to represent Singapore at Muslimah Fashion Week in London (July 2015), Jakarta (October 2015) and KL (December 2015). We at Sufyaa are thankful that our collection has since grown to include not only shawls but tops and dresses as well which women from all walks of life would fall in love with. Sufyaa believes in giving back to the community and is thus actively involved in helping single mothers, cancer patients and Muslim converts.
