Keeping someone safe can be as simple as speaking up. ๐ฅฐ
One evening at Sengkang MRT Station, an alert commuter noticed a man closely tailing a young lady up an escalator. Holding his phone flat against his chest and angling it upwards, he appeared to be secretly filming under her skirt. ๐จ The commuter flagged this to a Security Officer, who informed Assistant Station Manager Kenny Tan.
Kenny swiftly detained the man, separated him from the lady and informed his colleague to call the Police. ๐ฎ๐ป โWe shouldnโt take these things lightly. Itโs better to play safe and make sure her modesty wasnโt taken advantage of,โ shared Kenny.
The suspect was subsequently arrested by the Police. ๐ For his vigilance and decisive actions, Kenny was honoured with the SaferSG Partner (Individual) Award at the Public Transport Security Command (TransCom) Community Roadshow today. ๐๐ผ
At the SBS Transit booth, we also showcased some of our innovativeโ technologies that help enhance safety and security, including MR-2, a multi-role robot that autonomously patrols Punggol Coast MRT Station, detecting security concerns such as unattended bags and loitering. ๐คโจ
So if something doesnโt look right during your journey, don't hesitate to speak up. ๐ฃ๏ธ Your actions could help keep our public transport network safer for everyone! โค๏ธ
