🌱🙋‍♂️ On 22 August, about 50 colleagues from head office rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on experience on sustainable farming at City Sprouts, a local community farm in Singapore.

💡♻️ Through an interactive farm tour by the City Sprouts team, our colleagues learnt how urban farming, community initiatives and social inclusion come together to support Singapore's food security goals. The learning continued with a series of engaging activities focused on waste reduction and circular living, as our colleagues discovered creative ways to upcycle plastic, textile and cardboard waste. They even got up close with black soldier fly larvae to understand how these insects turn food waste into valuable compost for the farm! 🧑‍🌾

🍡🧑‍🍳 Our colleagues also had their own farm-to-table experience by harvesting fresh produce from the farm and using it to make ondeh ondeh, a popular sweet treat in Southeast Asia!

💚👍 A heartfelt thanks to the City Sprouts team for an inspiring and enriching day of learning which deepened our colleagues' understanding on how small everyday actions can create a meaningful impact for a more resilient and sustainable tomorrow. As a Future-Focused organisation, PIL remains committed to supporting programmes like these that promote environmental stewardship, foster awareness and empower our people to contribute towards a greener future!

🆕🚢 Following our announcement earlier this month to launch the Imara Express (IMX) service, we are pleased to unveil an enhancement of this new service by introducing a butterfly network configuration with two dedicated loops, IM1 and IM2! ➰➰

🇮🇳⏩🇰🇪🇹🇿 The enhanced IMX provides weekly direct connections to two of East Africa's most important trade gateways — Mombasa, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This will support the growing demand along the corridor by offering improved network versatility, wider cargo reach, and seamless access to regional markets.

📅 The first sailing of IM1 and IM2 will commence from Nhava Sheva, India on 24 September and 23 September respectively.

🗣️💬 Mr William Ho, General Manager, Long-Haul Services, PIL, said, "The enhanced IMX service brings together the strengths of our consortium partners to provide a more effective connection between India and East Africa. With dedicated coverage of Dar es Salaam and Mombasa on their respective loops, customers can benefit from improved market access, greater routing options, and a stronger logistics platform to support their business growth. This enhancement reflects PIL's commitment to investing in strategic partnerships and delivering solutions that create long-term value for our customers."

⚓📢 Our 14,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessel Kota Ebony made her maiden call to Aqaba, Jordan on 21 August! 🇯🇴

👏🥳 To celebrate this momentous occasion, a ceremony was held aboard the vessel on 23 August, where representatives from PIL and Aqaba Container Terminal - ACT presented a commemorative plaque to Master of Kota Ebony Capt. Sun Jinjian, marking the vessel's first call at the port.

🚢🌏 Kota Ebony is our third “E” Class vessel which we took delivery of in February 2025, and she is currently plying our Rea Sea Service (RS2) route. After Aqaba, Kota Ebony will make her way to Egypt and Djibouti, before returning to Singapore and China.

🌱🌐 The inaugural call of Kota Ebony at Aqaba reinforces PIL's commitment to building a greener and more connected future. As we expand our capabilities and strengthen our network, we remain focused on supporting global trade in a more efficient and sustainable way!

🆕🥳 It's a new chapter for our Brazilian team as they opened a new office in the city of Santos on 17 August! This is their second office in the country, following the inauguration of our Brazilian headquarters in Sao Paulo in August 2024. 🇧🇷

🍍🍍 True to PIL's Singaporean roots, our colleagues in Brazil rolled pineapples into their new premise – a Singaporean tradition to bring blessings and prosperity to a new space!

🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ Guided by our commitment to Putting Customers First, PIL continues to strengthen our regional presence through the opening of new offices. We are excited to seeing our team in Santos create new opportunities and deliver even greater value to our customers and communities!

🎖️⛑️ PIL is proud to be awarded "Outstanding Contribution to Search and Rescue Efforts in 2025" on 17 August at the MPA Safety@Sea Awards, held as part of the Safety@Sea Week 2026! Organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore - MPA, this annual event brings together the maritime community to discuss on maritime safety.

🚨🆘 We are awarded for our successful search-and-rescue operation carried out by our vessel Kota Cantik on 10 November 2025. While enroute from Lagos to Onne, Nigeria, the vessel spotted three fishermen drifting in distress in the Gulf of Guinea, approximately 10 nautical miles off the coast of Lagos.

🚢⚠️ Master of Kota Cantik, Capt. Anatolii Panchenko, immediately alerted the local port authorities and directed the vessel towards the fishermen. Working swiftly and professionally, our crew successfully rescued the men and brought them safely on board. They were provided with food, drinking water, dry clothing and a warm shower while awaiting assistance from the Nigerian Navy, which later transported them safely back to shore. The fishermen shared that they had been adrift for several hours after their fishing boat capsized.

The award was received on behalf of PIL and the Kota Cantik crew by Capt. Peng Chu Xing, Deputy General Manager, Quality, Safety, Security and Environment, from MPA Chief Executive Mr Ang Wee Keong.

🫡💪 As a People-Centric shipping line, PIL is committed to safeguarding lives at sea and supporting the wellbeing of the maritime community. We commend Capt. Panchenko and the crew of Kota Cantik for their swift and selfless search-and-rescue efforts. 💕🇨🇮 Last Friday, our colleagues in Côte d'Ivoire visited the Orphelinat Foyer d'Accueil d'Abidjan, a local orphanage in the city of Abidjan, to donate food items and school supplies in support of the children and families at the centre.

🍝📚 From essential food items such as rice, oil, milk and pasta to educational materials for the upcoming school year, the donation reflects our commitment to uplifting the communities where we operate. By supporting the well-being and learning journey of these children, our team helped create opportunities for a brighter future. ☀️

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ At PIL, being Future-Focused means conducting our business with the aim of making the world a better place for future generations.
