🚗🇸🇬 DRIVING FORWARD TOGETHER: How PM Lawrence Wong’s National Day Rally 2026 Delivers for Singaporean PHV Drivers & Families! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💪

Fellow drivers, community kakis, and road warriors! Last week at the National Day Rally 2026, PM Lawrence Wong laid out a bold vision for Singapore’s future—balancing global uncertainties while putting real, tangible support right into the hands of ordinary Singaporean families and workers.

For our hard-working Malay Regiment veterans, PHV, and taxi driver communities who hustle day in and day out on the roads to provide for our loved ones, what does this mean for our daily lives? Let’s break down the key wins:

👶 1. Massive Boost for Growing Families (More Support, Every Step of the Way!)

Juggling long hours behind the steering wheel and family life isn't easy. PM announced a game-changing shift in family support:

Higher Childcare Leave: The more children you have, the more leave you get (up to 12 days for 3+ kids)—fully covered by the Government so employers can support us better!

A Financial Safety Net That Lasts: Every newborn gets nearly $70,000 in direct financial support from birth, through primary/secondary school Edusave top-ups, all the way to age 17.

Affordable Preschools: Full-day childcare fees will be progressively lowered to just $150 a month, and infant care to $300 a month, making quality care much lighter on our pockets!

🏠 2. Easier Access to Homes & Upgraded Housing Support

Higher Income Ceilings: The BTO income ceiling is rising to $16,000 (and Executive Condos to $18,000), helping more middle-income families qualify for subsidised public housing.

Priority for Growing Families: Extra ballot chances for first-timer families with children—so you can secure your home faster and build your nest.

🤖 3. Embracing Technology on Our Own Terms (Fair Transition for Drivers)

PM addressed the future of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) head-on. While AVs will eventually help manage transport demands as our workforce ages, drivers will not be left behind.

Just like how Singapore successfully integrated ride-hailing apps years ago while supporting drivers through the transition, the government has promised a progressive approach: no tech adoption will run ahead of our ability to retrain, support, and help affected drivers move into new opportunities.

🛡️ 4. Standing Strong and United in a Changing World

From our NSmen and former servicemen to everyday citizens, our multi-racial harmony and strong national defense remain the bedrock of our safety.

Singapore is staying connected, securing essential supplies, and rolling out support packages to help workers weather global economic turbulence.

Bottom line? Whether you're navigating peak-hour traffic along the Pan Island Expressway, sending your kids to school, or planning for your golden years, PM Lawrence Wong's message is clear: The government stands with Singaporean families and workers every step of the way.

Let's keep our wheels turning, support one another on the road and in our neighbourhoods, and build a stronger Singapore together! 🇸🇬🤝

The Power of Infaq: A Legacy of Brotherhood and Compassion

In Islam, Infaq (spending in the way of Allah) is not merely about charity; it is a profound act of love, solidarity, and faith. It is the conscious choice to share what we have been blessed with—whether wealth, time, or energy—to uplift those in need, knowing that every contribution is a seed planted for the Hereafter.

For as long as they have been formed, the PHV Malay Regiment has kept the spirit of community and compassion alive through their steadfast practice of "Derma Kilat" (immediate, collective fundraising). Whenever a brother or his family faces hardship, they never walk alone.

A Story of Hope and Healing

Recently, the wife of one of our brothers faced a critical medical emergency requiring urgent surgery due to severe cancer complications. By the grace and mercy of Allah SWT (Alhamdulillah), the operation was successful, and she is currently recovering well.

To support her recovery and ease the family's burden, the PHV Malay Regiment once again answered the call through Derma Kilat. Special recognition goes to Brothers Buhari, Fuad, Sani, and Fauzi, whose swift and sincere efforts helped purchase a much-needed wheelchair.

InsyaAllah, this wheelchair stands as a continuous act of Infaq dedicated under their names. May Allah SWT bless them, their families, and all their friends with enduring health, abundant sustenance, and a long, blessed life.

Prayers of Blessings
Let us lift our hands in gratitude and pray for all involved:

Rabbana taqabbal minna, innaka anta-s-sami'u-l-'alim.
"Ya Allah, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:127)

Rabbana aatina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar.
"Ya Allah, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:201)

Man dha alladhi yuqridu Allaha qardan hasanan fayudiafahu lahu walahu ajrun kareemun.
"Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And he will have a noble reward." (Surah Al-Hadid, 57:11)

Ameen, ya Rabbal 'Alameen. 🤲✨
