Back in Tioman, doing what I love..

No fancy underwater picture, just focus on training the open water student yesterday and she aced it!

Small groups, personalised training and the flexibility to train at your own pace — that's how I like to teach.

A pool session with a little more meaning than usual.

Yesterday, I had a Chinese instructor who normally teaches in China join my pool session — not as a student, but to observe how I conduct my training here in Singapore.

At the same time, I had a new learner and her boyfriend in the pool. He is already certified, but had not been diving for some time.

Interestingly, the new diver picked things up remarkably well and was very comfortable in the water.

It’s a good reminder that a certification card tells you where someone has been — it doesn’t necessarily tell you where their diving skills are today.

The pool is where we build the foundation, identify what needs work, and develop confidence before taking it into the sea.

And now the real test begins. Both of them are heading to Tioman with me this Friday. Let’s see how the pool preparation translates to the real ocean.

One of our Instructor Candidates shared this after today's pool session.

It reminded me that the transition from being a diver to becoming an instructor is a very different journey.

During an IDC, it's not just about performing a skill. It's about learning how to demonstrate it clearly, coach effectively and help others build confidence underwater.

Back from Tioman after another wonderful weekend.
Congratulations to our 2 newly certified divers! 🎉
Together with 3 fun divers and 1 holiday maker, it turned out to be a fantastic trip filled with great dives, good company, and plenty of laughter.
I'm especially happy to hear everyone enjoyed the accommodation at Berjaya, our stay in Mersing, and all the meals along the way. It's always rewarding when the whole experience comes together—not just the diving.
Time for some much-needed rest... more photos to come over the next few days.
