We always appreciate when we have a group coming on a trip with us. While we cannot always "promise" shark landings will occur, our primary aim has always still been to provide alternative livelihoods to the shark fishermen, first and foremost, than promising there will be sharks landed, cut up and bloodied, and processed every single day. We can only communicate what is happening at any given point in time.
On shark day, we always include the visit to fishermen's island and home cooked lunch by the fisherfolk families as a way to provide income to the fishermen even if snorkelling trips are not happening so income still goes to them, rather than just having the group see what's happening at the shark market and shark processing plant.
We are truly sorry if groups have been "disappointed" that no sharks are landed on any given visit and sincerely hope that's not the expectation when groups book with us.
We don't control what happens on the ground, we can only hope we communicate the complexity of the trade and more importantly, find ways and means to provide alternative income for ex shark fishermen through us.
Thank you, dear all, for the support all this while.
